Has anyone had this problem. I bent my old pair and ordered some SPL ones and when I was installing them yesterday I realized why my old ones bent. They are like a 1/8 inch away from the frame so any time the wheel travels up the ruca comes in contsct with the frame
Here are some pics. I need some options on how to fix it. I thought of two options
1. Notch a section out and re weld it since the frame in that section is two pieces of metal sandwhiched together
2. Just hammer it up :-/

Anyone have any ideas??

Hammer it up. Your car is low as hell to be that close.

its hard to tell by the pics but they look like they might need to be switched around

Actually that makes sense, the angle of the control arm versus the axle seems way off, is it on correctly?

Also looks like a stock strut as well.

Definitely not on correctly.

Take a better pic of the entire suspension so we can see what is going on.

I noticed mine look like they have come in contact with the frame in the same spot. Kuz I can feel scratches in the powdercoating, and notice a shiny spot above the ruca on the frame..

My car isnt all that low, but I was planning on just hammering that pinch up a bit probably..

SPL rucas have a small 'crook' in them so they clear the frame better. Yours look upside down.

I think you need to swap them around.

^^^ what they all said... first pic shows the angle of the rod end and the rest of the arm. second pic shows the angle against the axles, its should be close to being parallel to it. Switching sides should give you at least 2 more inches of clearance.

please post pics when done and of your ride height.

Yep. They're upside down. The angle on them makes them slammed car friendly.

It has nothing to do with brand.

OP installed them wrong.

Even the PBM ones won't work if installed impropperly.

No I have FLT-A2's

But how would they be on wrong? If I bent my old ones would that mean those were on wrong too?

Take a picture of the entire assembly.

Then we can confirm what your problem is.

just looking at SPLparts.com and its hard to tell if the RUCAs are angled.

OP please take pics of the full assembly as suggested

SPL RUCAs are supposed to be angled for low car friendliness, which I did research.. so yes, another +1 for pics and a you probably put them on the wrong way

You put them on upside down. Here are my Cusco's I ordered from SPL. I'm damn low too and no problems what so ever.

You can tell from the first picture that they're installed the wrong way..

The arm comes towards you, then at the kink goes down (WRONG)
