After making my near death experience, car crash result thread from this past summer, I finally decided I should make a build thread on the new car for 2009.
So where to start....
While in the hospital this past summer I was already starting to plan out the second build in 1 year. After all I never give up on my dreams!
So I spent time searching for a decent 14 shell I could swap everything into and realized people around here (AZ) were asking wayyyy too much or were selling super cheap but very "suspicious" aka not including tittles and such :bash:
Anyways, I remembered that Hampton and I started to build a back up 180 shell a few years back and thought wellllll what the heck I guess I'll use it LOL
here's what I got when I decided to start on it
- JUST A CAGED AND FULLY STITCH WELDED SHELL..... no subframes... no wires.... no... NOTHING LOL

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/_MG_4088-1.jpg
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/_MG_4090-1.jpg
Then I started making the gussets while we still had a Shear at our old shop during our move hahahaha I know I'm an asshole... but who cares I was in a wheelchair anyways

Next step was to put the RB25 in along with the R33 crossmember with S14 LCA's, S14 spindles, R33 Brakes, and s13 rear Subframe with Stance solid pressed in bushing dealios, H Competition RUCAs, TC, TOE and brand new LCA's, so we could transport everything at once instead of bringing the shell and everything else separate... makes sense

then I took my mirrors off to make my block off plates and door mounted my small mirrors, also put my front wheels on cuz I had some tires laying around, Work XD9's 17x9.5 +17 ( dont worry there WILL be a spacer) ;)

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_5512.jpg
Brought it into our new shop and started thinking...... a lot of thinking....
and decided I wanted more room in front of the RB to use puller fans instead of pushers. so I came up with this... turned out awesome cuz I can now work on the motor a lot faster in "on track" repair situations. IE unbolt that core support bar and the I/C and Radiator both come right out!

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_5683.jpg
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_5682.jpg
The next thing I decided was that if I'm going to slam the car and run crazy angle giving knuckles, I'm gonna need to do something about my fender wells....
so theyre outta there and started fabricating the alternative!

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_5685.jpg
Then I went To San Dimas CA to visit my gf and her family for her bday and took the advantage to go see one of my sponsors Koji @ carstudio D-max and came home with the whole shabang
started mounting everything for fitment purposes before we send the car out to paint.

http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_0229.jpg
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/ridesnowx4/IMG_5659.jpg
Thats it for now, only had the car at the shop for a few weeks, BUT i'm definately dreading my chassis WIRING! :barf:
hope you guys are as stoked as I am on the new build...
