just wondering, anyone with solid subframe bushings got any in car footage?
i read a lot of people say that with the solid bushings, it gets a little noisey. i just wanna hear HOW noisey it gets. also if it makes a difference between running a welded diff and a lsd, noise wise.
thanks in advance

If noise is even remotely a concern just get poly inserts.

It does get much noisier, especially if you run no interior. I could hear my diff whining (vlsd and welded) and it sucked. If I had to do it again, id get spacers.

im not worried TOO much about the noise
just want to see if anyone got any video's so i can hear how it sounds

ninjabread: how does the whining sound? i read somewhere on here that it sounded like a chainsaw, is that true?

ayuaddict: did you strip your interior as well, or you still got everything intact?

thanks for the help btw.

it would be cool if the noise could be quieted down a bit, but if it can't be, then its all good. i just want to hear HOW noisey it gets and what kind of noise it makes.
i was thinking of maybe slipping thin pieces or rubber between the body and the bushings, but if the noise isn't too bad, then i'll just install it as is.

Mine isnt that much noisier, and I'm fully stripped. The odd clunk from the VLSD, but nothing major. It'll probably get a whole lot noisier when I weld the diff and put my solid diff mounts on though :D

when you say mechanical, do you mean like... how cars with straight cut gears sound?

so i've read that it sounds like a chainsaw, someone else said theres only clunking. what else kinds of noise does it make?
maybe if you guys don't have in car footage with your own car, maybe you guys can search on youtube and find a video that has similar noises as your car, IF you guys have the time though ;)
it will be much appreciated :yum:

i don't really know anyone on the island running solid subframes. a friend of mine knows someone, but the car is still being built.

humming? how loud is the humming? can you still listen to music without having to turn up the volume too much?

it'll probably be crappy as hell for me to drive on the streets, cause hawaii got some whack ass streets with tons of pot holes, but if its just humming and clunking, then im not too worried. now if it was like a chainsaw, i'd probably sell my bushings and pick up something else.

and i have a s13. picked up my stance bushings for $100 bnib.
