okay so i have tried everything...well at least ive tried everything i know...okay so the car is getting fuel and spark but not starting up...i pulled the fuel rail off with injectors still in it and cranked it, fuel is coming...i stuck spark plugs in the wires and its sparking, so spark is coming...
i have spent all day trying to adjust the timing on the distirbutor and it is not starting, it stumbles like its going to start but wont start...other then that it just cranks...is there a speacial way of doing this???i did it according to the fsm, and a write up here in the tech pages....
can some one give some tips on how to do it right or tricks i got to do to get it right...this has been going on for 3 days now and i cant get it done...i need your help...

had the same problem put #1 cylinder at top dead center then align the dots/mark on the distributor, then nothing. It was getting fuel and spark that tested fine from the manual. Finally got frustrated and then spun the distributor in any direction bolted it back in then on the third try finally came alive.

I had to take my valve cover off and set it at TDC by the dots on the cam gears because setting it at TDC by the pulley just wasn't working.

yeah i was thinking of trying that...just to make sure top dead center on the cam gears are intake 10:00 and exh. is 2:00 right...then just put the distributor in like it is suppose to be right...

What kind of work have you done to the motor that might have caused this?

nothing has been done to the motor...if was running fine in a friends car and then he pulled it out for a swap and i took it to replace my blown

Make sure that when you set the motor at TDC that it is on the compression stroke. I have heard that a lot of people make the mistake of setting it at TDC on the exhaust stoke resulting in similar symptoms as you are having.

you realize all u have to do is remove sparkplug from cylinder 1 slowly drop a screwdriver down the hole slowly, and turn the crank watching the screwdriver til its at its highest point, whihc is TDC, reinstall plug and wire...then set ur distributer per the tech pages... then crank the bitch, but make sure u give it enough time to get fuel...

^^This is how people mistake the TDC on exhaust stoke with the TDC on intake stoke. Nismo Drifter your going to have to take the valve cover off and watch the intake valve as you turn the crank. TDC on intake stoke as you would probably guess is is when the piston reaches the top right after intake valve closes.

just do this to make sure you're at TDC.
You can also pull the oil filler cap and check the cam lobes, TDC on the correct stroke will have both lobes on the #1 cylinder pointing outward, to the sides.
