You know what they ALL have in common? They ALL WORKED as long as I had them. Sure there was LATER NES days when you had to blow in the cartridge and press the cartridge down so that it rubs against the front. But it still worked.

I have never owned a console that quit on me. I take care of my stuff like the little gifts from gods own living room that they are.

Until now. My 360 finally took a shit and I got the 3 red lights. Yes I'm aware MS stepped in and extended the warranty to three years. Lotta good that does me since I bought it on day one.

So I can either pay $99 to have it fixed or they will give me a credit to buy another.

This really just pisses me off.

I know some people would say, well yours lasted longer then most people's. Wow, that's great. I wish it didn't so at least the warranty would cover it.

So now I'm down to a Wii and sans a 360 and DVD player. I'm going to have a hard time spending money on another one now as I hardly play the damn thing.

I think I'll invest in a PS3 instead.

Yeah I had no idea about the Ring of Death when I bought my used 360 from a buddy. About a year after the purchase from him, with the life of the 360 of about 3 years, I got the 3 red lights. But about 5 dollars in parts at Lowe's, a tiny torqx nut it, and about a hour and a half we had it fixed. That was about 4 months ago and it still works (knock on wood).

I know the feeling sucks but it is repairable if you want to crack it open.

I recently bought a 360 to keep up with the times, and because Nazi Zombies on XBL sounded fucking fun. I rarely play it... Those that have a 360 and a PS3, am I the ONLY ONE that notices how LOUD the Xbox is?! That thing is really noisy. Wireless internet is extra money, XBL is extra money...

I love my PS3. I got it pretty much right when they came out, I've NEVER had an issue, they have wireless network built in, multiplayer works just fine for me, it plays Blu Ray movies, graphics are intense, I like the PS3 Store WAY BETTER THAN XBOX!

Not really cause I <3 my Nissan's. I haven't really had an attachment with my 360 like I have with all of my past consoles. It's easily my least favorite console I've owned next to the Jaguar.

I have a PS3, got it just after launch and have never had a single problem with it, aside from a ground loop that was messing with the screen (the house's fault, not the PS3's.). I love it, though I dont play games at all as much as I used to. I do admit I had to send in my PS2 after a few years when it got the Disk Read Error, although Sony took care of it 100% free of charge. Just saying, no console manufacturer is infallible.

my 360 library dwarfs my ps3 shit. cross console games i will get on 360 as well, because honestly the ps3 controller sucks ass for games that use stick + shoulder. the shoulder buttons are too far away from the thumbsticks compared to the 360 controller. the controller ergonomics were absolutely great when games still used the d-pad mainly (ps1 and ps2 era). nowadays, it's time to move that shit out of the way and bring the sticks closer to the shoulders.

I still have my NES with 2 controllers, the gun for duckhunt, the game genie, and supermario 1, 2, and 3 and like 10 other games. And it STILL works flawlessly! :snoop: I took it out a couple a months ago for my nephew and he was more hooked on it than his playstation. haha.

I think its is just an electronic device with shoddy engineering. Both ps3 and xbox 360 have issues. To me they are juss about the same thing since they have nearly the same games, cept xbox is cheaper. some people go through a lot of xboxes others have had only 1 or 2. the hatachi drive is soooooooo much quieter than the common one in older 360's. Storing games on the HD fixes alot of freezing/audio/visual issues with 99% of games if you have any. Its just kinda sad they didnt include this originally

First one just died.

Third I had taken apart and someone touched the power supply and short circuited it.
Fifth one just started freezing on me whenever it starts up.

Also the dumbest thing in the world...there are about 3 different versions of the original Xbox all using a little bit different components on the inside. None of the parts I had left over from all mine would work with each other so I couldn't rebuild any of them. GAY.

forreal. ps2 is on, 24/7. pause it and turn off the tv. done.

it took a fall off of a bunkbed onto concrete floor. fucked up the video connector a little but it still all worked.

it fell off of the tv stand with it all apart and no screws in it beause i took it apart to take the tray face off for swap disking an import. broke the cable from the motherboard to the pwer/eject switch. thats what finally killed it. tried to frankenstien it with a friends broken ps2 but they were different versions so the cable was different.

bought a new slim one and never looked back.



that said, i want a 360 because i miss being utterly addicted to fallout3 from my roommates 360. and some other games. his rrod'd but microsoft took care of it easily.

My brother had to buy 3 360's because of the red ring of death. They all took a dump on him before MS addressed the issue... Now he's on his fourth one which seems to be working right.

I've owned ONE PS1. ONE PS2. and ONE PS3. All were bought they day they came and every system works flawlessly to this day... I used to be the kind of gamer that would leave my PS on for days or weeks on end.

My PS2 is a POS it takes like 3 times as long as normal to read game discs, I quit playing it as a result.

You know what they ALL have in common? They ALL WORKED as long as I had them. Sure there was LATER NES days when you had to blow in the cartridge and press the cartridge down so that it rubs against the front. But it still worked.

I have never owned a console that quit on me. I take care of my stuff like the little gifts from gods own living room that they are.

Until now. My 360 finally took a shit and I got the 3 red lights. Yes I'm aware MS stepped in and extended the warranty to three years. Lotta good that does me since I bought it on day one.

So I can either pay $99 to have it fixed or they will give me a credit to buy another.

This really just pisses me off.

I know some people would say, well yours lasted longer then most people's. Wow, that's great. I wish it didn't so at least the warranty would cover it.

So now I'm down to a Wii and sans a 360 and DVD player. I'm going to have a hard time spending money on another one now as I hardly play the damn thing.

I think I'll invest in a PS3 instead.

I've always wondered why this is.

A bunch of people in one area will get a great batch. Another group in another area will get a batch of shit.

i had my ps3 60gig for 2.5 yrs. hardcore gaming and i leave on [email protected] no problems with my 2 ps2 also.

anyone notice toshiba and sony used the same cell chip. if you ever heard of 3DO(which i owned) M2 was sold to matsushita for 100 million. they had plans to develope a gaming console (which was 4-5x more powerful than the playstation that time) using the m2 but, it was never released. instead they planned for a multimedia console which seems to vanish. toshiba i last heard acquired the m2 technology and had plans for it. i wonder if some of M2 is related to ps3... just a thought.

Yea a day one launch PS2 that i could hook up right now with no problems. It runs like a champ. I know a lot of people had problems though. Like what was mentioned it's just the batch of systems.

See, that's my problem? I shouldn't have to do that. That's why I've been a console fan my whole life and not a PC fan. I want to buy my system and play the fuck out of it and not have to worry about modding it, etc. That's BS.
