--Here are some shiftknob weights pulled from pg 2 of this thread, for anyone that might want to know--
For Reference:
340g = 0.75 lbs. = weight of a full (12 oz) soda can
440g - Skunk2
375g - Razo RA120
365g - Greddy Ball Type SH
362g - Blaze
340g - Fairlady Z32----

Which do you prefer and why?
There's only a $10 price difference... both are counterweighted.
I think the main thing the nismo has going for it is that it won't get burning hot?
///also, currently have this:

How do you think the GT and Greddy would compare?
I am dissatisfied with the grabbing position, as well as how hot it can get.

i have the same shift knob as your's i find the position of the grip is fine but only downfall is when you park your car and let it sit for like 30min-1hr in the heat it does get very hot to touch. I'd looking into the nismo resin shift knob.

I also have the nismo gt and I love the way it feels. The material makes for a good grip. It doesn't get slippery when my hands are sweaty. Doesn't get hot on hot days. It has a good weight to it. There's also a screw on top to ensure that the shifter won't ever come loose. Plus it has a simple yet sporty look to it.

I have the greddy, nice to drive with, there is some good weight to it. It does get hot though, so I take it off when I get to work and set it aside for the day or put it in the freezer haha.

You guys should look a JDM company called blaze... I have one of their shift knobs and its weight 362 grams. It looks and feels awesome especially with short shifter rattle. Also really helps getting into gear...

I HAD the Nismo GT knob, and LOVED it. Only reason I got rid of it was that the outer part (rubber or whatever it is) came detatched from the metal center part. Not sure how long it was in the car because it was in the car when I bought it. It did last at least 2 1/2 years (how long I've owned the car). I would recommend it over the Greddy knob though. Just want to give you a heads up on what will happen to it in the future.

Yeah, my GT Knob is cool, but the outer rubber part isn't connected to the inner part. I got it used, so I don't know if it was originally attached, but it's not now. lol
I really wish it was heavier. It doesn't feel like it's as heavy as the stock knob. I'm gonna get something a bit heavier eventually.

Do you have GT Titanium knob? It's not that light. It's prety heavy considering its size.

I have the Nismo GT in my s13 and really like it. But as someone else posted, the rubber did eventually separate from the metal part of the knob. I really liked it because it never got hot in the summer and had a nice feel to it.

I have the Nismo GT, and it's not heavy at all. It looks nice though.

I had a Greddy but didn't like it - I found the chrome finish to be slippery, especially in cold weather when I had gloves on. YMMV. I've never tried the GT but I imagine it'd be decent. I've developed a dislike for metal knobs, especially in summer.
I have tried a bunch of shift knobs in my car, but always come back to the Nismo leather knob...

Okay so it seems the general consensus is that the GT is better, although I'm sure that in the end it comes out to personal preference..
but some of you are saying the GT isn't really that heavy?
Does anyone know if the rubber nismo GT is significantly lighter than the titanium GT?

its a fucking shift knob. Like it really makes a difference which you get. If your looking for opinions whats the point when everyone will tell you they like the other one. Its up to you since your gunna be using it.
I cant believe alot of you guys are actually replying with your answers. There are other post out there for example. Ask which brake pads are better and most you guys give the same answer i just did.

That's because this is an easy subject. I'm sure as far as brake pads are concerned, most people make their decision based what the general consensus says and not with their own experience/knowledge. But with shift knobs, it either fells good or it doesn't.

i was using the idea of brakes as an example... I agree brakes are something where we need user feedback. Im saying a good topic like brakes is brushed off but HEY WHICH SHIFT KNOB IS MORE JDM and which should i buy, has people contributing. it just kind of makes it look like there are some hypocrites here

hey that DSG one actually looks pretty decent. I like the shape of it, the material looks like it wont scald you... I just wish I could actually hold it before I purchase...
/no this wasn't a thread for the most JDM shiftknob, i just wanted user opinion/feedback on the functionality of the ones I mentioned.
The nismo shiftknob I currently have is JDM enough.. but IMO it's definitely not the best shiftknob out there.. so idk where you're getting the whole JDM thing.
Thanks to all those that replied

I'm trying to collect some of the weight-specs on these shiftknobs. Does a list like this exist already?
Here's what I have so far:
For Reference:
350g = 0.77 lbs.
440g - Skunk2
383g - Greddy Ball
375g - Razo RA120
362g - Blaze
340g - Fairlady Z32
of course, weight's not the only factor to consider with a shiftknob, but I just thought it'd be nice to have the specs collected.

for the record, if anyone's in this same situation, I ended up picking up a used Greddy ball Type SH and I love it. I found it's much smaller than it seems to be in pictures and much heavier than I expected it to be.
My old nismo feels like a feather compared to this thing. The shape of the knob is very comfortable and my shifts are much more solid and smooth now.
thanks to everyone for their input.

I love how people care about the weight of a shift knob. Take a shit before getting on the track and you'll make up for 10 shift knobs.

Douchebag.
A heavier knob makes shifting easier, smoother, and less notchy feeling than a featherweight knob.
They're not talking about weight savings.

Shift knob of the year. I was considering using a Snap-On... but that craftsman has to be twice the size of the bar I was gonna rob it off of.
The reason i used the larger one was because i used the lower threaded part of the Nismo GT knob to make this one and i needed the wider diameter to fit the nut. I heated the nut and then pressed it into the handle so it would fit perfectly flush and it did. Ive had it for a couple months and its never come loose.
