Ok I have a S13 N/A SR. My PS leaks like theres no tomorrow and ive checked my hoses and their still all intact. So its gonna be the pump, But ive searched the "sr20det faq's" forum and no luck in there. And i know how Zilvians hate posting simple question without research so i did my homework but no luck. Any ideas where i can get one or does the B13 SE-R or G20 identical to my PS pump?
Or can i just get my PS rebuilt?

What type of fluid have you been using?

ANY power steering fluid i can get a hold of @ autozone. Is that bad? This started happening when i broke my PS belt on the freeway. But now im gettin tired of the whining sound every time it runs out of Fluid. And my PS fluid seems to boil up every time i get a session or so drifting. Any recommendation of PS fluid?

Fuck. Have you ever read anything on this forum? Or your owner's manual even?
Nissan power steering systems are designed to run ATF. Period. Automatic transmission fluid. Do a search and you'll learn all the bad about regular PS fluid and how shitty it is. Especially in a system not designed to use it. You'll need to flush all the lines and keep watch on the rack, it's probably going to start leaking soon too.

Quote: ^that guy "ATF. Period."
Thank you. Dexron III mercon w/e it is called is recommended.
OP: MAKE SURE you check that PS level once getting it fixed man, it is a self bleeding system, so just keep refilling the reservoir. If you don't the metal fins will wear out and yeah. Article on the basic workings of it why you need fluid at all times: Vane pumps wear out fast without proper fluid!
Pump
The hydraulic power for the steering is provided by a rotary-vane pump (see diagram below). This pump is driven by the car's engine via a belt and pulley. It contains a set of retractable vanes that spin inside an oval chamber.
http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/steering-pump-diagram.jpg As the vanes spin, they pull hydraulic fluid from the return line at low pressure and force it into the outlet at high pressure. The amount of flow provided by the pump depends on the car's engine speed. The pump must be designed to provide adequate flow when the engine is idling. As a result, the pump moves much more fluid than necessary when the engine is running at faster speeds.
The pump contains a pressure-relief valve to make sure that the pressure does not get too high, especially at high engine speeds when so much fluid is being pumped.
To fix you PS system, I would say if you high pressure lines are not the problem (The ones that you can see easily in the front of the engine bay area), then: jack up the car and check the back of the steering rack. If your car is low your hard line may have hit something and broken. You'll notice it if it is. If so, just stop off at the auto store, grab some pipe and bend it to the old pipe shape, slap it back in there!
sry fast explanation GL!

Dont really help my OP, but thanks for the input on the PS fluid. I'll do so when i get everything settled. I never got a hold of a service manual and ive had my car for almost 2 years now and new to zilvia, so i thought ANY PS steering was OK. But as you stated i guess not =/. boo to me.

Its actually leaking from my PS pump itself. Like i stated all the lines are fine and intact. I have a massive mud collected on my bottom block due to my PS pump leaking and my car dont leak oil at all.

Damn man. Well my first guess is check where the high pressure lines meet up with the pump at those huge banjo fittings. Check to see if they each have 2 copper washers around them to seal it nicely.

Might as well change all the lines in that matter. If thats not the problem, have any idea where i can cop a PS pump?

Ka ones are the same except for the outlet manifold for the reservoir line, but you can swap those by the 2 10mm bolts. They bolt right up so if you're headed to a junkyard that would work. Also maybe they're the same on SR'd sentras I'm not sure because I never had one.
I'm going to a pretty big junkyard around march 7th if you don't have something by then I can pick up a pump for ya lol.
are you sure it's leaking from the pump, almost right underneath it are some hardlines leading to the rack double check those.
as others said ALWAYS use ATF fluid, ps fluid will destroy your racks seals..
