I have a 5spd on my coupe and an AT on my hatchback,

I want to give my coupe to my girlfriend soon so I want to make it into an AT, and make my hatch into a 5spd.

What other things would I need, or do I have everything already? (besides tools)

hahaha funny guys

Well she bought my coupe for $300 since I owe her some money anyways. But she does not get to keep the silvia front end. She does get the Wangan wing, some head40 rims, nismo struts, kyb rear shocks, some gold springs I got from Japan, some May Storm wheels from Japan, greddy stuff. hahah If someone threw me a cheap manual tranny, I would pick it up instead, but people are charging about $600+ for that. I'm getting an AT for cheap $150 so its good. I want 5speed in the hatch now.

oh and she learned how to drive stick way before me haha :p

OT: Its her birthday today so we went out for some Korean BBQ, it was good, but left a $40 dent that I could have used to change the oil and other stuff hahahaha

the cars and the girlfriend will always be my weak spots! ill always be poor! :( :p

hahaha you know what? I am poor.

got the coupe for $750 a while back, and got this hatch for around $300 with an auto tranny that does not like reverse.

I'm not sure when I'm going to swap, but I'm going to that Apex thing on Sat. and Sun. maybe. Hoping to buy an exhaust.

Maybe we can have a meet there hahaha

what you talking about I could give you a KA 5 speed for anywhere from $100-$250 for your car. I could also get you your swap parts for like another $200 and I am in Los Angeles

damn i really want to convert my car to 5 speed
automatic is just way too boring and lame.
on average how long do you think it would take to do a complete swap from auto to 5 speed?

a bit off topic, but does anyone know if the s15 six-speed uses the same tranny mounts as the us-spec '95 240sx five-speed and if not, how much modification is needed to swap it in?

not long. basically I outline the whole process in the faq section. If you are mechanically inclined you could do it in a day. If you wanted to take your time 2 days.

oh yeah to the guy inquiring about the S15 6 speed trans . don't bother. Its not as strong as your 5 speed . All the racers and drifters in Japan swap out the 6 speeds for earlier 5 speeds. The casing of the 6 speed is the same as the 5 speed they put narrower gears in (read, weaker!!) to get 6 gears in.

very true, dave. however, those ppl are pushing out HIGH amounts of hp. i doubt that most ppl will actually attain that kind of power. and if they could, then they'd already kno about the problem with the 6spd.

The "risky" level that is generally accepted is 350hp. The main debate is crank vs. wheel hp.
But anyway.

Indy Import Performance (http://www.indyimport.com) quoted me at $800 for the labor alone on the auto> manual swap. There's a kit on eBay going for $299 with the 5speed tranny and all the parts. Seems a little steep. I'm just going to wait until I get the SR20DET and pay a little extra for the tranny swap.

Actually... it's a very, very reasonable price. Most of the time you can't get a full swap for under $700 if you don't piece it together yourself.
