So i'm driving and i notice smoke coming from the radio unit section. So i check to see why. No wires burnt nothing fried. So it has nothing to do with the radio or anything. But the thing is it only smokes when i'm driving but when i'm sitting still no smoke is coming from the radio din area. The smoke smells wierd like nothing ive smelled before. Kinda like the bad cat smell but not really. So i'm a little stumped on how the smoke could be getting inside the car and why. They only thing i can think of is a clogged cat with a bad gasket somewhere. No here is the funny thing, one day i seafoamed my car and notice some of the seafoam smoke coming from right after the exhaust manifold which gives me reason to think i have a bad exhaust gasket on the downpipe. Has this happen to anybody else? Also the smoke i think is a leaking injector or o rings but i haven't checked those yet. And i'm kinda bad on tellign what color the smoke is. lol. But i know it doesnt smell of oil or coolant. By the way this is on a S14

Blown motor... do a leak down test.... or oil leaking into exhaust side and creating a lot of smokein the engine and just rushes into cabin... Its really not good for you

if u have a 5 speed and its coming from the shifter/radio it can be your trans boot and trans fluid is going onto ur exhaust. i got that

Do you have an oil press gauge mounted in the car anywhere??? If so check the connection at the fitting on the back of the gauge. Other than that just look over your valve cover gasket/ and headgasket toward the rear of the engine for leakage.

Just another suggestion.....I had a cracked Heater Core....... hairline crack with hardly any water inside...
After driving for a little while it would give off a weird antifreeze smell and a little smoke ie....steam would come out by the radio....
I temporarily bypassed the heater core and it solved the problem until I fixed the heater core....

well im at work today and i found the culprit. coolant coming out of the exhaust but before i couldnt smell it. so im revving the motor and i go look out back and i see some driping going on. ut my finger under it and what do u know is green and sweet. jus my fucking luck, i jus had the motor pull and didnt do the head gasket. now that i know the smoke is coming from coolant. i still cant figure out how its getting in the car, because when i lift the hood there is no smoke in the engine compartment. i think its possibly also a exhaust leak somewhere.
