I am pretty well versed when it comes to how engines work, ect ect, and have tried everything I can think of, and also everything that I can find on the interwebz.
But heres the issue, I have a ka that wont run right. With maf plugged in, I start it up, it will go through startup cycle but as soon as its done, it dies. Also, If it tap the gas before it dies on its own, it will die.
If I unplug the maf, It goes into limp mode as normal, and can drive but obviously wont go over 3500.
Comp is good, timing is good, did the same thing when a known working maf was installed, I put in a known working tps, and it still does the same thing. There are no vacuum leaks. The spark plugs are good.
The only thing I can think of that would cause such issues would be cts or ecu. I dont think the ecu is bad, and the car starts right up every single time, so that kinda rules out the whole cts flooding your engine thing. Wtf am I missing guys?
And my nightmare is that somewhere in the harness of one of the sensors is the problem. Please tell me I'm just being dumb and that I don't have to go through the harness.

Dirty/Faulty IACV?

Have you checked the ECU for codes?

Cleaned the IACV, but that wouldnt even cause the death by throttle. Also, the ecu is gonna be throwing up maf and tps codes, as I have been unplugging and plugging both in.

Yeah i thought about that after i posted that.

A bad CTS would make it run rich.

Really sounds like a Vac leak/ bad MAF although i know you already checked those things

Check voltages coming out of your MAF and see what it's sending to your ecu.. Check to see if you have good spark but it sounds like a fuel issue. Does it do it hot and cold? Also check fuel pressure might be a dying pump.

It does it hot and cold. the only time it seems normal is the ecu's defualt startup cycle, for the first 15 seconds after startup. Im 99 percent sure its leaning out, and thats whats killing it. I miss my old car. All I had to do is hook the laptop up and it would tell me everything. I got spoiled. I need to get my hands on a voltmeter, it seems more and more like its something wrong in the harness, which would suck.

Not exactly the harness but more like a sensor problem. A bad CTS can do a number of abnormalities. Hell it could read extemely hot and the ecu will lean itself out so far that'll die. As of right now I think it's the MAF. Just see what it's putting out.

Was the ecu. Replaced it, revved up smoothly... then the clutch fan flew off and hit my roommate, so hes a little pissed at me right now.

Must have been some scarry/funny shit to see that happen.

yea I was watching my rpms and outta the corner of my eye i see shit fly out of my engine bay, then my roomate grabs his arm. Didn't really do anything, but Im sure it scared the hell out of him.

yea check the voltage coming out from the TPS and maf. TPS because when you step on the gas it automatically dies and Maf to see if it may be something wrong with the MAF or just wiring.

Hahahha I want pictures... lucky at low rpm... Get it up to 6grand and your roommate probably will have something left in his arm like a fan blad.... Its dangerous.

its a clutch fan. it doesnt spin as fast as the engine is turning.

that is funny though

well it bounced around the engine bay first, cracked my shroud, so thats prolly why it didnt hit him all that hard. The pully flew off two. glad that didnt hit him.
