I've read some posts on the forums about the Eibach Prokit springs. Seems like they are good so far. I was wondering, what shocks do you guys recommend? I'm looking for decent suspension, not crazy super precision freakin' ultimate drift suspension that would cost me $1500+, LOL. I don't wanna spend too much, I probably end up spending more later though, after I'm out of high school. I went car shopping yesterday, my dad has actually agreed to look for a 240 with me. I have a question though...do you guys suggest paying $2000 for a car with clear title and an engine with lots of mileage? or go to a place like a "nissan heaven" with cars that have no engine, buy it for $900, and then install a SR20DET engine in it? As of now, I'm just looking for a car with a clean title, but the salvage title car with a badass engine has crossed my mind a lot. A friend of mine did it, he had no problems, except the fact he kept getting pulled over since his car was so fast and all the cops knew it, LOL. well, thanks, i appreciate any responses.
Sincerely,
Paul
P.S.
Please don't bitch at me for being a noob. I'm on the process of learning, and I'm not acting like I know anything, cause I don't know much at all.

Well, you've got a couple legitimate questions...

as for shocks: if you don't want to spend a lot, you can go something like KYB GR2's or AGX's. The GR2's are pretty much a stock replacement, and the AGX's are adjustable, and are supposed to have a great performance per dollar value. AFAIK, either would work with Prokits, the AGX's would obviously work better since you could "tune" them to the springrates of the Prokits.

As for the clean car vs salvaged car.... with the salvaged car you're always going to be taking a risk. There's a lot more to a car than just the engine, so even if you're swapping in an SR, you've got the suspension, subframes, and braking systems to worry about, in addition to any minor details like leaking weather seals or rust cancer spots that might not be seen on the outside.....

IMO, if this car is gonna be your daily driver and you'll have to depend on it, start with a clean title.

you better consider the legality of the SR and future cost of parts and such.....Also make sure u let your dad know it's not a legal engine here so he doesn't hit the f'ing roof when u don't pass emissions...

If you plan to be relatively poor for a while, and have only one car; SR may not be for u.

Very true.
With a SR, you have to have an emergency fund for unplanned problems. I have only rolled my SR 70-80 miles and I have had quite a few "bugs" to work out... One of the bugs is proving to be quite expensive too... :(
