saw that and started to wonder...Did electric fans ever come stock on a 240sx?

That's the air conditioner condenser fan.
Yup. Works well too to cool off the SR instead of a clutch fan. :)

Works well in a pinch, I wouldn't trust that in heavy traffic or a track day though.
It's small, with no shroud, blowing on the front of the radiator instead of the back.

Quite true. I wouldn't run that fan in California... but up here in Canada, when our hottest day reach only 80ish degres and where traffic is lower, the a/c fan always on is more than enough. :)

I have had several occasions where the engine started heating up (temp guage nearly at max) due to just running the condenser fan (especially in traffic). I woul recommend you go with a dual fan setup from the nissan altima.
