View Full Version : Switching from A SOHC TO DOHC. Any mod changes????
I Have a 1990 240sx and tranny just got messed up so i have to get another one. I wanted to get an SR But i dont have enough. So anyways...i was thinking on just getting a DOHC KA and tranny to replace the SOHC and tranny or course. My question is that are there modification to change from a SOHC or DOHC>???
and if so, what are they? I need my car up and running since i dont have another car to drive. Thanks alot!!!!

There used to be a faq on unstable hybrids, but the link doesn't work now. Someone might have a copy of it though. I think for the most part its the same, but you'll need to change your tach for sure.

you need to have a 91-94: ecu and harness, p/s lines and pump, a/c stuff, and tach. Other then that, you can use whatever engine you want. The only interesting part is the 6 wires that you have to splice. Other then that it's not much harder then taking out your current engine and putting it back in. I did my swap personally so if you get it, I'll answer any questions you might have
