Oni,
sorry to break it to you bro, but drifting isnt about crap tires and high power
is about traction and driver control
its ALL about traction
unless you like 1st gear drifts, stick w/ the crap tires.
if you like fast long powerslides that lead into drifts and chokudoris out of them, get good tires on ALL 4 wheels.
Paeco Est about 215HP, not bad with a 8k redline, more than enought to drift

I know that, im just saying, that ill get some semi used tires in the back, thats why they will be cheap, not saying they wont grip, cuz they will. But i know not to get brand new tires in the back, cuz i go though brand new tires in a bout 3 months, so buying new expensive tires is pointless for me, i dont get skinny ones cuz its easyer to drift, i get skinnyer ones cuz their less expensive.

your lucky. i go through a pair of FM901s EVERY MONTH
hahaha...sometimes 2 depending on how many events/how hard i drive that time.
moving to Yokohama ES100s soon. i hear they are better. try that soon.
basically i buy fm901s for all 4 wheels. after about 2 track events, the back is dead. so the front goes to back and i get two new front ones..and that's the rotation. haha
same tire size 205/55/15 on 7" and 7.5" (rear)

Anyways, the tires are like 40$s each, so thats not to bad, their just kinda soft

I'm poor.
yeah so I'm sticking the basics right now.
Aem short ram...(I've been trying to save money for this the past 2 months with no result.)
Then my next is the most beautiful N1 Duel...
Looks like I'll be gettin some extra cash in the next few months, so the intake is a good possibility...but the cat-back and all the other mods I want (really didn't feel like listing anything else) will just have to wait.

Can I wager on this N1 Duel? What are the weapons? Old school cowboy-style with pistols at dawn, or a change of pace and updated weapons? Are they dueling to the death?
I think you should get an N1 Dual, cuz there will be less bloodshed, and more torque. It'll be cheaper, cuz you won't have to buy an N1 single and N1 dual to Duel.
Anyway. I'm 1 week away (exactly) from the "Drop a fucking engine into the car" mod.

The only thing that I really want right now is a 95+ J30 vlsd. I'll probably get that late summer or early fall. MAYBE an exhaust, I wanted to get one a while ago, but I bought tires/rims for autox instead. After I get the vlsd, exhaust will be next. I would also like an S15 Spec R shift knob...but I think $100 is a little obscene.

he was going overboard on the guy spelling N-1 Dual incorrectly.
my future mods:
new engine: week or so
FMIC: week or so
Q45 brake swap: as soon as my car is running
turbo timer: month or so
weight reduction: as soon as i have time and a working car
apexi s-afc/ walbro pump/ adjustable fpr/ dyno tuning: before summer
there's lots more but it's all pipe dream at the moment.

Distant future: Oil change.

I put off the most expensive mods for last
1. Get FMIC (working on that this weekend)
2. Get rims
sidenote- WTF why is it so hard to find rims that you like in the offset you need at a price you can afford. Everytime I find rims in my price range that I like they are already sold
So here it is. If you currently have some SSRs or wantanabees in 16in or 15in fashion I will buy them off you (for a reasonable price of course)
Just e-mail me
Also where's the best place to look on line for used JDM rims (American knock-offs suck:mad: )

Fix broken stuff with good new stuff.
Yeah, I know, no fun :o
Right now fixing broken stuff with good new stuff means some stainless brake lines, pillowball TC rods, and a SPEC Stage 2 clutch. Already got the clutch, I just need to install it. I'm going to order the brake lines tonight, I guess. TC rods I'm still shopping around for... I'll probably go with battle version, they look great from a functional standpoint.
Beyond that I don't like to look too far in the future... If I break more parts I'll replace them...

lol, (mario voice) "Here we go"
This is just stuff layin around my room that I need to do.
Replace fender and corner light - paint flat black
Install HKS camp and Sony monitor
Mount balance 17X9 wheels and tires and stick on car
Install cusco rear upper arms.
Figure out what I'm gonna do with my 16's w/ 4 inch lip that stick out 2 inch's past my quarter panel
Drive to MD to pick up my turbo extension that I bought 3 MONTHS ago.
install HKS 2540.
umm... there's more hold on lemme think... oh yeah
Get an alignment
pick up dash board and throw away - (LONG story)
paint dash black and cut for monitor
cut two holes in my bumper for intercooler - JDM style!
aish, can't think anymore it's just too daunting. I haven't even gotten to the stuff I plan to buy yet:D

your answer is there! prepare for bumpersteer! haha..
my advice, get your rear fenders rolled, then when your suspesnion compresses, you wont hit the tire on the inner lip of the fender. you also wont require so mcuh neg camber to tuck it in as well.

tru tru, but if I get my fenders rolled my 17X9's won't sit flush w/ the quarterpanel. I'm gonna have to space em.
Probably best if I just hock em buy another pair that'd fit.
look at em, that's gonna take mucho negative camber

nah bud. when you roll the fenders it tucks the lip on the inside up. it wont flare the fender out.
feel under the rear quarter panel's fender, above the tire, you'll see thre's alittle lip that stics out. when theyr oll the fender it tucks that lip up. wont pull out the fender, keeps it at the same size, just tucks that up so you can tuck your wheels right up to the fender and when you suspension compresses, you wont be slamming (and possibly ruining) your tires! it wont flare out the fender!

03-05-2003, 02:57 PM
ahh I see, then can't I just get inthere w/ some vice grips and roll that sucker my self? And could I still get em to fit when they stick out so far (take a look at pic)
Dousan_PG
03-05-2003, 03:00 PM
you could but you'll destroy the paint and wrinkle the metal.
best is baseball bat technique, just roll it like that, but you'll still need touch up paint or nail polish to clean up the job.
call around to local high roller type shops. lots of those fancy pants BMWs and Mercedes gets their fenders rolled when they get the bling bling wheels.
hearing your tire slam against that lip at the track is not cool. i've heard it. very uncomfortable sound!

hmmm...interesting BUT it doesn't meet my goals. I wanted a setup for the street and then to be able to just put on my extra wheels when I wanted to drift. not put on my extra wheels then fook w/ camber until everything tucks nice. I want something that I can go in under 10 min....cause I'm lazy like that:D
edit: paint? what paint? flat black baby!

no no don't get me wrong, as of right now I'm gonna get rid of those wheels. I don't think any amount of negative camber will get those suckers to sit right.
Trust me the last thing I wanna do is ride around with wheels stickin out of my quarter panels. No good

Whenever it is everyone gets their complete setup together will be a begining of some awesome cars on the street. I'm still debating with myself wondering..."self.....(thats what i call myself).....self, if i had 10,000 bucks would i really put it all on that 240 sitting in the driveway?" Just the thought of 10,000 gone gives me the chills. But then again, after spending 10,000 there would be one heck of a car in the driveway.;) :D
