Question 1:

I have a couple questions. Will an aluminum radiator for an s13 work in an s14? I had an s13 before I picked up my s14 and I'm just wondering if I can use the radiator. Just figured I'd ask someone before I took everything apart in case it won't work.

Question 2:

I recently picked up a vlsd from a fellow zilvian. It currently has 5-bold output shafts and was used in his s13. My s14 uses 6-bolt shafts. When I removed the 5-bolt shafts from the diff, I found that they were longer than the 6-bolt shafts. Can I just put the 6-bolt output shafts in there and call it a day, or will the shafts being different lengths not allow me to do that.

I'm wondering the same thing>
And the second question, I've swapped five and six bolt shafts from S13, S14 and J30. So I think they all work, it's just a matter of getting the longer ones in position. It may be more difficult because of the longer shaft, but it's definitely doable.

Is it an S13 VLSD?

Yes the S14 radiator fits.

The only differnce is the thickness, its 10mm thicker. Also the overflow nipple is on the other side.. so you will need a longer piece of hose to the overflow as you will have to turn the hose enough so it doesnt kink.

S13 & S15 radiators are the same thickness, except the overflow nipple is on the same side as S14.

You need to get 2x short halfshafts, and itll work. just knock them in.

Not to sound like an ignorant little bastard, but when you say half shafts you're talking about the cv axles, correct? Supposedly it is an S14 VLSD, but I was under the impression that S14s were 6-bolt.

Can I use the stock radiator fan shroud and stuff if I use the S13 radiator? Would it be better to just get an electric fan and do away with the clutch fan?

those rubber grommets? I took a razor and cut the edges off of them, radiator sits flush now.

Half shaft = output shaft. They're different between various models, I've had J30, S14, and Z32 in front of me and none of them matched, but as long as the length and spline depth is the same they work, granted they're from a VLSD. The open diff shafts have a different end flange and don't work. You're better off finding 92-94 J30 axles, they swap right in. The 95-97 axles are 6bolt as well and won't work for you.

The radiator drops in but the top mounting pegs are further to towards the center on an S13 unit so you'll need to redrill the core support to use the upper mounting brackets or just use long zipties like some kids do.

did the same thing w/ my koyo. then used some chinks o metal i found in the garage to secure it. FYI cha'll un a longer hose. so ya prevent pinching the hose.
