just did my 5 speed swap. was told i could run 80-90 for gear oil.
as im shifting into 2nd, it dosent grind but its kind of hard and sometimes makes a weird noise. i cant really describe it but it dosent feel right. but it only does it as im going fast. if im going super slow and shift into second dosent do it. Also if im just stopped hold the clutch in and move the shifter around feels like gold. what could it be?

Worn synchros most likely. Mine does pretty much the same thing. I just double-clutch until the car warms up, then it's golden.

Dude, it actually does makes a difference when the car warms up??

my friends think i am crazy because i tell them my car grinds gears (synchros) when the car is cold.

every tranny is harder to shift when it's cold..
its just alot more noticeable when it's a worn out tranny

my roomie single cam slammer is the exact same way. syncro's are so far gone. it feels like it actually fighting against you going into gear. I mean you can't even force it into gear. as for weight. am i the only one that runs 75w90?
