I took my car for the first drive after doing a sohc to dohc swap. BAD NEWS!

I couldn't get my car started after the swap and new it was pretty much an ignition problem. I was fu''ing with the distributor all day today(moving to TDC and moving rotor to #1 wire). It would NOT start, so I said fuck it and swapped the ignition wires. Put #4 wire in the number 1 and #1 in the 4 spot and the same with the other wires. Thing fired right up, but runs poor. I took it for a drive and I have almost no power. I pulled over after driving and looked in my engine bay and my header was the color of the sun. I was careful not to run it too long cus my temp sensor isn't working for some reason. Why would it only start after swapping the wires like that?

The catalytic converter might be clogged.

advanced the timing as much as i could without pulling the distributor. fixed that problem, now my clutch isn't fully engaging when i get on the gas. my rpms will shoot up too fast. I know it sounds like the clutch is out but was wondering if maybe not bleeding the clutch properly can cause that. The clutch doesn't feel like it comes back up all the way with ease.
