Are you 100% positive its rod knock? I have seen some pretty dumb people (this is not aimed at you directly) that think their timing chain slap is rod knock.

well you have to open up the motor and see if theres any damage on anything else..you might be able to get away with new bearings..

No telling without having to open it up first.

If you stop running the engine at the very first sign of rod knock you stand a good chance at just being able to replace the rod bearing, this would me you caught it when teh sound was very faint almost not noticeable. Once you got full blown rod knock though you'll do alot more damage to teh rod journal and the piston wrist pin etc etc.

motor started to knock when it had turbo, then motor was still knocking after turbo was took off....so with that how bad would you think it is? and if it a bad rod knock would i have to rebuild the entire motor (block & head) or just block?

If its a stock KA24DE bottom end, just get another block from someone else...

I tell people stuff like this everyday at work
you can never really know the amount of damage or the problem until you decide to actually tear into the vehicle and find out. if you are unable to do such a thing i would suggest calling a skilled mechanic an having them do it for you. Could be a matter of a few dollars to fix the problem or a few hundred or more. With out 100% certainty you can just start pissing money into the wind and i don't know about you. But, my pockets are not that deep.
lol, most of the time after words its followed w/: no i don't want to work on your car. Sorry i said No money is nice but i am not money motivated. thanks any ways. *smile*
walk away.
