I was reading on this website and I found that they say the 91 240sx had the best cams becasue they pulled the hardest in top end and was wondering if this is true? Thanks

All S13 KA24DE cams are the same.
240/248
S14 cams are 232/232

I don't think it has been confirmed yet that all S13 cams are the same. The only person that I have talked to that has actually had access to many S13 cams and had reason to measure them (and who I consider a reliable source) is Don Nimi at PDM Racing. He told me that 91-92 cams were all the same...and that there were a few different versions of 93 cams...that he had yet to track down. There has been speculation that there was a cam change in the 93 engines coinciding with the removal of the SCV (intake butterflies), but that is just speculation.

Sorry, newbie question.... what do you mean by 240/248 and 232/232 ??? and how is 240/248 better?

Yup, except i heard that from asad, who prolly heard it from Don though...
240/248 <- 240 degrees duration of the intake cam, 248 duration of the exhaust. Basicly allows the engine to get more air in and out due to the cams being open longer.... with big overlap/duration like say 260/260 you get crappy idle, but 240/248 doesn't affect idle in any way. Got 91 cams in my car, can only feel the difference at 4K+ rpms

Sounds about right...you heard it from Asad who heard it from me, after I asked Don directly about it. It had long been a matter of speculation...so I figured I'd check with him since he had seen and had a chance to measure more cams than I have seen...and that was basically the response. I posted that on FA...and others have been repeating it.
