Ive got an s13 w/ redtop sr in it. Its kind of hard to start but it fires up and runs. It idles fine. When I rev it it starts to cut out around 5k or so. Bah, bah, bah bah, bah. Now heres the funny part, if I put the battery charger on it it is fine. The plugs appear lean. Ive checked the maf, tps, alternator, coils, repaired some of the shotty harness, replaced battery terminals, added a body ground. I was told by my friend that works at nissan that it could be the alternator even though it appears to be ok. what do you think? Im probably just gonna throw one on there to test it but would love some more input. thanks!

I can't believe you even had to ask. Obviously the alternator isn't charging. The plugs are lean because the fuel pump is loosing voltage.

Rebuilt/replace the alternator.

I did have to ask because the battery is not running out. It will still start and run and it doesn't lose voltage and die. Everything tests out ok. I went ahead and swapped a known good atl. from my other car and its doing the same. thing.

I dont understand why it is still cutting out over 5k with this new alt. Everything seems good. Repaired the alt ground that was fucked up and added another one and its doing the same thing. wtf?

Multimeter. Use it to check fuel pump voltage.
