ok maybe u guys can help me. i relocated the battery to the rear of the car for race reasons. connected the positive cable to the starter as i found it and the ground to a tab sticking out the trunk. (fairly solid ground) i have a wire coming from the starter like i found b4 the install connected that to a red connector as i found it. car ran.
then when i was cleanin up the way it looked i touched the 2nd wire from the starter to the intake by accident. car completely lost power. ok no problem i check all the fuses they were fine.
now for the weird part. the car has 13 volts from the battery to the starter. and same from the start of the 2nd wire to the end. but now when i connect it to the red box thing all voltage vanish!! as soon as i connect it it disappears. when i disconnect it it has 13 volts! :wtf:
didnt put much time into cuz i had work soon. but im a licensed tech for toyota/ lexus and ive never seen this before. maybe this has happened to somebody before. the car is just sitting now on a nice new jersy weekend.
HELP!!!!

dude, you really need to reword your question, include pictures of the wires for visual reference. I think i know what it is, but give us a better description and i can tell you for sure.

yes, be more specific please. the "red box thing", and the "2 wire to the end" dont tell us much.

Did you check the fuseable link? Usually if you contact the power wire of the alternator that wire runs through a fuseable link and it should have popped. I'd start there, that should keep your car from charging. Also check the clip on the side of the alternator to make sure the exciter wire is making good contact. Is your Battery light on?

light is off. charging system is working fine. 14.23 volts out. 12.7 in. car runs great b4 5k but seems like its running too rich and just loses power. like it hit fuel cut. also it keeps blowin 10amp fuel pump fuses but a 15 amp fuse works fine. hmmmmmm
