pig nose or chuki???

hey i'm new here so,.... sorry if its been posted before, i have an 89 s13 coupe, single slammer, soon to 5spd, i'm looking to hit this thing for all i want to do to it at once, new sway bars, new struts, lowering springs, intake and exhaust,(i'm going cheap cause i only have about 600 in this thing) anyway, i have a pig nose bumper and a chuki, i can't decide, the car is currently flat black and will soon be a matte metalic silver, if anyone has pics for an example of this or input i am looking for some insight on what looks nicer, its going to be a weekend drift, practice car, so let me know what you got.

well i'm putting tein h-techs on it so i don't think that counts as dumped, its olnl like an inch drop, and i'm rocking some freakin gay chrome turbine style 16's on it at the moment, 225-50-16, don't like em it came with, i like 16's on it, but i'm gonna drop a couple sizes in tires, and change to a gun metal or black, with a deep lip, other wise i'm keeping the body mostly stock, i did find an origin lip spoiler i like, but i'm not a body kit person, also smoking the tails, and putting yellow projectors in place of the factory sealed beams. all against a matte silver metalic body, and super dark tint on the glass, so i guess i'm looking for which nose looks best with that setup

Go with the chuki bumper. More modern.
The pignose front end only looks good on two-tone coupes, and even those cars are pushing it.

going from black to silver alone is a big mistake. you know how much work a full color change is? you're better off sanding down some of the topcoat and painting your car a nice color that is still close to the original vehicle color. nothing worse than seeing chipped paint on a silver car and seeing a complete contrast of paint underneath it.

as for the bumper, it doesnt matter. i've had both, i preferred the 91-94 but in the end, it doesnt matter. look at the grand scheme of things, if your car looks like ass it doesnt matter what front end it has.

save your money and spend it on doing things right.

get both bumpers painted so you can swap them around if you want to or if one gets damaged. personally, i'd go with the chucki. imo pignose only looks good in white.

ahead of you on that one, 1 it is getting sanded all the way down, mainly cause i'm bored, and 2 its a cheap flakey flat black that is chipping off to show the original silver color. also i'm trying to make it a similar scheme to match my 260z, and eventually match my(or soon to be mine) 620 pickup

like i said, it all depends how its done. no offense, but the flat black s13 looks like a mess, none of the body panels are lined up properly and the car looks so damn typical. theres some douchebag around here in burbank who drives a slammed primer s13, the car is so low its undriveable, and even worse its sitting on some shitty sportmax wheels.

if thats your fortay, then fine.. but i wouldnt want a car like that.

I agree with ixfxi's point on the panels lining up. If the panels dont line up perfectly then it really takes away from thee looks of the car. Personally if mine came anywhere near close to that flat black s13 then I would be satisfied, but my radiator core support/frame got fudged in an accident so nothing lines up. Its depressing on my end lol

to me they both look good and have their place, the car is probably going to get the hell beatin out of it, so expensive rims are not what i'm after, i found a deal on motegi 5 spokes, so i might be doin that. my baby is deff. my 260z so it stays pretty, lol and the 240sx is mostly straight has one dent in the df fender as best i can tell its untouched its a 2 owner car with 175k on it, has a new head and redone bottom end, otherwise stock no accidents. and the egr valve is pissing me off, thank god missouri doesn't check smog. its getting a block off plate and nickle in the header bung, i bought this as my beater with a heater but the flat black always looking dirty is driving me nuts. and there are some semi local drift events coming to topeka, ks and k.c. so i want to look decent. so far i'm kinda liking the sleeker look of the chuki but it makes the nose look a bit long in some colors, so the pig nose still retains a totaly oem look out side, .... now i'm just rambling so more pics if anyone has them, like to see some side shots of chuki coupes if anyone has em'

Fender extensions are the plastics peices that go on the chuki s13 fenders to make them line up properly with the chuki bumper. Chuki bumper with pisgnose fenders and no extension = dog shit body lines.

It CAN look good. Its just that the average person that throws a piggy lip on a chuki bumper is a fucking idiot, and can't mount it in a way that looks good.

yea absolutely depends on ride height and the "look" your going for. Old school look with fender flares, 15's with 60 series tires, dumped with the front lip is with for the Piggy.

However if you have 17's, 40 series tires, CF hood, good paint, daily ride height, and overfenders, then go chuki.

i also think pig looks better in coupe (which this is) and chuki looks better in fastback

the fact that you need fender extensions for the chuki = FAIL.. the only thing I really ever liked about that bumper is the fact that you can cleanly run fogs or CDRL.. pignose lip looks like crap on both bumpers due to sag. Go with the pignose and rock a xenon lip.. :naughtyd:

If its a weekend drift car you will need both... Hell ziptie the shit and change it out every once in a while. If its a budget car no worries.You can use both!

both bumpers look good to me but I personally go with the pignose because I like the old school tuner style and it looks a bit more aggressive with the lip. But really any bumper looks good you gotta make them look right with the car.
