Condition / History:
I purchased the car early 2006 with just over 130k miles on it. It came with the underdrive pulley and a crappy exhaust, but otherwise stock. Since then I've done my best to fix and restore the things that tend to ware out with age. Most everything on the car has been installed by my brother (an ASE certified mechanic) and I. The exceptions being the clutch/flywheel and the exhaust which were installed at local shops. The car has been consistently maintained over the 16k miles that I've had it—regular oil changes, belts, etc. I'd like to make it clear that the car has not been drifted during my ownership. Because of this, it is a bit cleaner than most 240s around. The body has minor door dings/dents on it, the worst being the front left fender and headlight cover. The car came with with most all of the blemishes, as well as the fender damage, when I purchased it and I intended to replace both the fender and the headlight cover, so extra ones are included.
The engine still runs reasonably well, it has a noisy timing chain (common for higher mileage KAs, I've heard). The transmission shifts considerably well considering the mileage. The clutch/flywheel as well as the master and slave cylinders were installed about 9,000 miles ago; the clutch engages and holds well and has a linear feel to it. The tranny fluid and the engine's rear main seal were both changed when the clutch and flywheel were installed. The R32 diff was installed about 4,000 miles ago with fresh fluids as well. The drop springs and shocks have about 12,000 miles on them and the remaining suspension pieces, including the rebuilt rack, have about 4,000 miles on them. The EBC pads may need to be replaced in the near future as a slight brake squeak has developed recently, most likely the ware indicators. The pads otherwise seem to have some life left in them and work well, and the rotors should be fine for at least another pad set. The tires are still in good shape and judging from my experience with them, they should be good for another 6,000 miles or so. As far as the exhaust goes, it was one of the fist things done to the car (due to the fart-pipe it came with) and it has been redone a couple of times in order to get the right combination for the KA. I finally settled on a pair of Magnaflow mufflers which gives the car a clean, aggressive sound without attracting too much unwanted attention.
The car has been used as a daily driver and has proven to be very reliable for the three years I've been driving it. The sunroof works well as do the a/c and heater. It generally averages around 23-24 mpg, almost entirely city driving. I would like to see this car go to a good home because it's become part of the family and honestly I hate to see it go.
