I need some help guys, i bought my car from someone who had the 240 sitting outside for about a month, because of their lack of money for insurace. This was about 1 month prior to winter. The problem is is sat in the rain and when i bougth it i cleaned it before i stored it for the winter, but now when i look at it in the right light even after washing it i see were the raindroplets use to be on the some parts of the car and on the windows especailly. The car is black and i would like any suggestions as to how to get the residue off. I have tried many types of cleaners on the windows and but with no success.

Any help would be appreciated

Give your car a good wash. Then use a clay bar (Mothers, California, Blue Magic), which will help get off surface residue. It worked wonders for me. Then give your car a good wax, and lightly use the buffer. This got my paintjob like new.

When I bought my car it had a big water spot on the hood. I washed it...it didn't come out. I waxed it and buffed that area heavily. And by heavily I don't mean digging into the paint, I just buffed it several times. Didn't see it at all after that.

here's what I do.

I use meguiar's pink car wash. whatever it is in that big bottle w/ the pink liquid. it gets out all the tar and crap from the road with a little rubbing. I usually use about one or two capfuls. (yes, i overdo it)

after I finish rinsing, I grab the dawn out. This stuff is pretty strong, i mean shoot, it cuts the grease in your dishes right?

Well guess what else it does, it takes out all that old wax that used to be there.

Mother's Clay bar is ok, no idea bout blue magic or california, but Zaino Brothers' Clay bar is the pizimp. It costs a fair amount, but it works. Course, you'll need to use some light car wash detergent in a spray as lubricant so you don't scratch up your paint (gold class car wash from meguiars diluted with water in a spray bottle works well).

After you're done with that. Rewash your car w/ Gold class carwash or Zaino's carwash. After you're done with that, use paint polish, or swirl remover, after you're done with that, (and your clear coat is still in place).

Wax.
Unless you're using something else other than Meguiar's, don't wax more than once, because it won't help.

Zaino and stuff like that look better w/ each successive application.
