Hey I know this isn't the best place to put it but its the only forum I go to...
Anyways my trouble is that I got some sort of Virus... I got AVG free and the virus thing doesn't let it open so theres no way to get rid of it. It got all my passwords and stuff. I know because I went to log into my myspace and the password was set to crazy numbers and letters like: 2khj231jk3jk2kj and stuff. I dont have a system restore because the virus shut it off... My CD drive doesn't work so I can't restart the whole thing no CD anyways. I'm scared I canceled all my cards and paypal and stuff. What can I do to save my PC and all my other personal stuff?

Is there anything I can do? I obviously cant take to a repair man because no money, my economic status is horrible.

do you have a win cd?

try a install repair
as soon as that works, than id go thru uninstalling some of the software you use and reinstalling.. at least you can keep your documents, but sometimes spyware will simply install something stupid and it will be listed in your software list.

than try avg scan, get some spyware scanners etc

My CD drive doesn't work so I can't restart the whole thing no CD anyways.

do you have a win cd?

Reading comprehension for the win.

Take it to Best Buy and have Geek Squad format it. Or replace the hard drive. Whichever is cheaper.

what? replace the hard drive??
He doesn't need to replace it, he just needs to format it.
If he has a floppy drive, he can get a boot disk and do just that. If you dont know what that is or how to use one, you shouldn't be using a windows machine.

basically, you're boned. You can try to move some of your files to a flash drive and scan those on another machine, or you can just suck it up and format that drive

Is there a free Virus removal I can use. I tried google and downloaded some and they scan but they don't remove until I pay. I have 932 infections. So much for AVG. I can't really afford much of anything at this point in time. I want something to stop all the things because I have a bank account online and they could steal what money I have left or overdraft. Help please.

I only said new hard drive because if he has to pay someone to format it, it will probably be cheaper.

You can always boot into DOS and format it like that too.

no cd drive huh well than man your fawked..

Try booting into safe mode *i think its f5 or f8 i dont remember*
and doing a virus scan there.

if you had a working cd drive and a win xp boot disc it would be easy.

I can't open AVG thats the problem or else I'd do a virus scan. Is there anything I can do to open AVG? Like forcibly open it to run a scan. If I take screen shots of stuff can you guys help me to see what could be causing it to not open?

are you sure its a virus?

give me a run down on what the virus is doing exactly.

also your system idle is high as fuck is it always at around 80s - 90s?
or was it just because you had some things loading up

if its anything, it would be minor so just :

1) Download spyware doctor
Spyware Doctor - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com (http://www.download.com/Spyware-Doctor/3000-8022_4-10293212.html)

2) Update it

3) Dont register since you dont need too

4) find the name for me

5) I will show you how to remove it through pm.

btw,

if you ever download something you are unsure of, scan it with this.
Online malware scan (http://virusscan.jotti.org/)

can catch basically any little virus easy.
I use to make trojans for fun and just upload it to see if it was detectable
and AVG never had a shot.

A simple encrypt and avg sucks
just because you have a anti virus doesn't mean your going to stop anything.

not all anti virus were created equal!

If your myspace password was cracked it could be a keylogger. I have no idea what sites you visit, but those were floating all over the WOW forums and places like that.

Best thing to do is just reinstall windows.

Borrow a CD drive and winxp cd from a friend, or torrent a cracked copy until you can afford to buy a new copy of windows.

Another option is to copy a friends windows CD (or a win xp torrent) onto a usb drive and install from there
(Install Windows Vista from Bootable USB Flash Memory Drive (http://www.techmixer.com/install-windows-vista-from-bootable-usb-flash-memory-drive/) ) directions are for vista, but it should be basically the same im sure.

Reinstalling is the fastest way to get rid of anything. Chances are if he has a keylogger he has a bunch of other shit on his computer too.

OP don't listen to this kid. Just reinstall and call it a day.

what a fucking waste of EVERYTHING

dumbest shit I have ever heard.

your a dumb ass.

a keylogger takes 3 minutes to find and remove

if it was some type of backdoor then o yea bro then maybe, but wtf a keylogger is a fucking simple trojan that does nothing to harm your computer.

None of the symptons he described even come close to being a keylogger!
he cancelled his shit just INCASE.

if you want me to help you, I dont mind.
if you want to listen to these retards who know nothing about computars and say to reformat/re install then do it, it will just waste your time.

Judging by your other posts I doubt you know how to do more than power on a computer.

Even though this is a blast, I'm going to stop arguing with you so this guys thread doesn't get locked.

Anyways OP, you can take advice from this scumbag that admits to jacking peoples stuff. Or you can take 45 minutes to reinstall windows and have a fresh slate. Your call.

For the record, he did not get a "aim virus". This has attacked his registry and will not allow him to run any programs, get into safe-mode. The "folder options" option under windows explorer is missing so it will not allow him to search for any hidden folders. I explained to him the best thing to do at this point would be to take his documents, move them, scan them and rebuild before putting them back on. He doesn't have a working CD-drive nor the XP CD. If anyone is near his area I'm sure he would appreciate the help if someone could go by and take a look. To the OP, goodluck and keep me posted.

Try using Avast Home Edition and do a BOOT scan, Works like a charm, Keep it updated, PLUS its free, If that doesn't work and if you think you found the virus, but cannot delete it, use UNLOCKER, find it on google. Find avast through GOOGLE pm me if you still need help

Right click on NofolderOptions and click Modify Option

no cd drive? wtf? $10 shipped on ebay.

listen to 123klan.

I would help, but it seems you probably have a LOT of shit on your computer from the lack of computer knowledge that you have. If it were me, I'd just back up important files and just reformat the damn thing.

Wow dude. Learn how to use a computer.

If I ever got to the point where I had a virus like that, I would say fuck it. DBAN and reinstall windows.

Back up files? You should already have them backed up. Redundancy is your friend.

system restore won't fix the problem anways..

boot into safe mode and scan the system with AVG free or w/e

start>msconfig>BOOT.ini tab>check the box /SAFEBOOT> press ok

box should come up do you want to restart now? click yes

update AVG before scanning and do a full system scan

if all else fails, reformat the system.. if you can get your hands on a optical drive.

edit: to get out of safe mode do the same thing but uncheck the box and press ok

you must start ur comp in safe mode without network...press f8 continiously at start up...choose safe mode...from there choose ur avg...run scan...if its still actin up give me an update

Please add zSHARE to your ad blocking whitelist or disable ad blocking when you visit zSHARE"
and it hasnt done this before and it worked just fine. but its been acting weird i tried doing a couple things but not much happened except for when i turned off the javascript. when i turned off the javascript it allowed me to listen to the music just fine but when i tried to download it. it didnt show the pop up window for me to get the music. so im stuck with what to do by trying to get zshare to work on my computer and help would be great

You should have started your own thread instead of bumping this old one. You're getting that error because just as it says, you either have Ad Block Plus or some other ad blocking software. The reason why it works when you turn off javascript is because the site uses a javascript to check for ad blocking software. Just add @@|http://www.zshare.net/ads.js to Ad aware and it should work.
