i have 97 s14 with redtop SR fresh rebuilt less than 10k miles
first of all car got shut off while i was driving, checked IGN fuse from next to battery it was burnt.
so replaced but i smelled really funky smell from under the hood
found out smell was from first coil pack and it was toasted....
replaced coil pack but still runs with 3 cylinder...
so i figure there is spark but no fuel...
got new injector and replaced....
NOW.... car would not even start !!! thought it was low voltage but no...
STATER is jammed !!! tried to tap it with 2X4 wood gently
no help...
last night i tried to push start but.. wheels just locks and no start....
do you guys thing starter is jammed fu*k out and wouldnt even let flywheel
spin ??
should i replace starter ?
:duh:

take the starter out and see if the car rolls then.
Shit, take the starter out and push start it to see if it even turns over.
Just be carful where that positive lead dangles.

Maybe your starter did what mine did.

My car wouldn't turn over because my starter broke, and the piece that broke off got jammed in the flywheel. Ha.

Why dont you undo the 2 bolts and pull the starter out??
save yourself a little money the shop would charge?

you might have screwed up the injector install and hydrolocked your motor with gasoline. take spark plugs out and make sure there isn't a pool of gas sitting in any cylinder. if there is, pray you didn't damage engine internals by trying to push start

Test the Starter,
is your battery charged?
check the timing, and the cas.
try jumping the starter signal with a screwdriver.

glad you figured it out.
if you haven't fixed the injector issue you're going to want to do that. if an o-ring is torn or an injector seized open, it's just going to flood and lock again.
injector install = new o-rings, lube them up with motor oil and then push firmly but gently while twisting a bit side to side until you feel them snap into place. if you torque them down with caps or jam it in there too hard you will tear the o-rings. bam instaflood.

ok.
I got new spark plugs and put them in
and started the car ... now it is running rich as hell
wouldn't boost much and really slow.
can't think of why....
could be MAF sensor? checked intercooler piping and boost leak
but it seems not much air is going to engine.
one after another... its killing me.
havent even got chance to install evo brakes because car is being stupid!!!

1. definitely install new o-rings & lube them.
2. disconnect the poss + from the battery for a min and turn headlights on, then off to drain all power and reset the computer.
3. while batt disconnected, pull the maf connector off and inspect pins for any corrosion/issues and reconnect...
4. possibly a faulty maf or even fpr. test and replace as needed. Get your mech. for this.

hmm i did all that...
but still running rich...
it feels it is not getting air enough...
thought it could be crack from intercooler but... its not...
and i dont think MAF either.. when i disconnect MAF car trys to die...
so... FPR then ?

i did all of trubleshoots i could think of.....
even compression check...
i think it is engine wring harness.
because whoever swap the motor before did really bad job...
its going behind engine and right next to manifold.
and 2 of wire was toasted and i think that caused all this prob. !!
fixed wires but.. i am going to get new harness and replace it..
let me know if anyone has engine wiring harness and.. ecu ( just in case )

Those wires probably went to the O2 sensor... and thats what caused it all.
If thats not it, you probably have the WRONG sized injectors in there and don't know it.. Or your o2 is effed. Or your mafs is reading high amts of air/ is effed as well.
You need to make sure you gap your plugs to 0.028" as well.

as far as spark plugs i got them from nismo shop and they are nissan oem spark plugs for sr20det. i am sure they are pregaped
my o2 sensor was never pluged.. dont think that is causing anything
but i am sure its ecu either harness....
