i hookah'd last night too while drinkin n chillin. It is good for socializing. I went to do it at the hookah bar like twice back home.
Now im in college, my friends have their own, right above from the hookah bar here at wsu. So i find myself smoking 2-3x a week. normally on thurs. when class is out to celebrate, then on weekends when we're drinking.
There is no way its addicting, just good for chilling and killin time. Plus the ladies love smoking hookah too. I'll be damned if this got me smoking cigs, i highly doubt it tho.

bump. couple weeks ago a buddy gave me some Layalina shisha. chocolate mint, double apple, and cola. so i've had the Mya QT out again. dug it out of the trunk, scrubbed it, and it's gone to three houses in two weeks.

Layalina cola is probably the most disgusting thing i've ever tasted. it tastes like puke. can't really fault Layalina though, i can't imagine a cola offering not tasting awful. chocolate mint was pretty tame, double apple is alright. gonna go ahead and pick up a big tin of Starbuzz Blue Mist this week so that all future hookah use is top notch.

i like starbuzz tobacco. we usually keep around 10 different flavors at one time.(for mixing and blending) lol. we smoke it out of a nice Kahlil Mamoon hookah. with the matching Kahlil Mamoon hose. Ill snap a pic next time im at my friends.

we always wash it after every use. with the brush set. always wash the hose with soap after. and rise. also rinse before use.

on a side note. as gay as it sounds... that fucking ed hardy tobacco is pretty good. no like. its nice and sweet. and stays smooth.

i have a local hookah place that does free hookah night on Wednesday. you can either bring your hookah and they give out free shisha/coils (they'll pack your bowl & re-fill once is done) and if you don't have a hookah, they loan one out and people just share. its fun. i haven't gone in the awhile tho

Doing a research on Hookah. Hookah's gotten really popular in N.Y over the past few years and I'm curious to know whether it may be the same on the West coast/mid American states.
Do you guys smoke often, if so what's your favorite flavors and how often do you smoke? Also, is it popular among your area? What are the prices like at lounges in your area?

They are big in socal pending locations.

Glendale, Burbank, 818 areas have insanely well setup locations with hooter style girls walking around in mini skirts, great atmosphere, sports blaring on the big screens, leather couches, and great finger foods.

Sort of if buffalo wild wings served hookah.

Tried the Kool aid base a few times, it deff makes for a tastier flavor depending on the tobacco. Think I'll try mixing milk and kool aid tonight. Ramadan starts tomorrow, which means I'll be smoking with friends every day after I break fast for the next month. Goodluck to those fasting.

I love to hookah. There is a ton of lounges by be normally charge 15 to 20 depending what u get. There is also a local strip club by us that has hookah we normally get that since it comes out cheaper then drinks and u can share it with a few people.

I also have connects to get the really big hookahs they have in lounges for around 60 and custom flavors they create that are better then starbuzz and cheaper.

and for everyone wondering about the health issues
its worse then a cig
with a cig it has the nasty tar and other chemicals
with sheesha its .05-.5% nicotine
but people forget that with sheesha your smoking for at least 30 min
and for the heavy smokers like my self over an hour

now a word of advice seeing that i did own a hookah bar and i take my sheesha to meets here in socal

to get the best flavor:
you need to keep your pipe clean and not watch the hose unless its made to wash.
use one flavor for one hookah. try not to mix and match flavors
do not use other things in the bowl, only tobacco or u will ruin the hookah
and ice helps cool the smoke but it doesnt hit as hard
and for water levels its usually supposed to be about 1-2inch above the bottom of the pipe.

other then that the best flavors for me are
double apple made by nakhlah
grape made by al fakher
and starbuzz for the rest.

I have tried about 7 different brands and starbuzz is consistently the worse. TO ME.

hookah is the pipe used, Shisha is the product inside the hookah. Like a cig is a cig, but you smoke a cig, that contains tobacco.

+1 for not washing pipes though. if you have a pipe that is meant to be cleaned, get a new pipe. lol.

for coals, do not use anything that self lights. You end up with a horrible metallic taste in the hookah that seems to never go away.

I prefer sinbads or fumari shisha

there is no good "cheap" shisha. if you really want to try starbuzz i would buy a small one. everyone i know that has smoked sinbads or fumari will never go back to starbuzz. even a friend of mine who reps for starbuzz all over the world loves sinbads. much cleaner, smoother taste.

Smoking hookah is fun and pleasurable but not if it is a hassle to get the charcoal to burn. Thanks to reviews here I could get just the right hookah accessories and charcoal along with shisha tobacco (http://www.hookahnection.com/) that made getting a hookah started easy and quick. Before I get any shisha or hookah flavors I first go through the extensive hookah reviews here. Saves me lots of money.

Belonging to a middle eastern culture this is a routine for me and my friends. My favorite set-up is a Maya hookah filled with ice water with a khalil Mamoon hose, nakla double apple, coconara coals heated using electric stove packing the tobacco in vortex bowl, with a bowl cover for the first 2 mins to heat it up quick.

Yea if you do smoke it does give you a little itchy throat in the morning but it just temporary until you drink something. For those of us that are athletes i recommend staying away from putting too many coals and from those really strong and sweet flavors.
