switching Heads?

OK i have a sr20 red top and my buddy was selling his black top for 100 bucks so i wanted to use that head to do my complete head build. i was wondering if his blacktop head with fit on my red top engine

yea it should be fine, only difference between red and black is the blacks are newer

if you are talking about a blacktop s13 head then yes. I have a blacktop s13 head on my redtop bottom end.

if you are talking about a blacktop s14 that may be a little different. I have heard that it has been done but I get a variety of answers when I ask this question. I was thinking of welding up the vtc oil hole and then decking the head. After that the s14 head should go perfectly onto the s13 block.
