First theres no Gran Torino thread, which was one of the best of last year, and now; theres no thread for Taken?

Fuck, this movie exceeds the badass meter, whats even better is the fact that LIAM NEESON plays the lead ass kicker role. Other than the awesome roles he had in Darkman and Batman Begins as characters who don't take shit for an answer (Qui Gon Jinn doesn't count, I did not see Rob Roy, and Oskar Schindler is a badass in a different way), I always pictured him as your friendly Irish neighbor who would lend you a hand in any kind of situation - not kicking ass like he did in this movie.

Any opinions?

Saw this a couple of weeks ago.

It really caught me off guard.

I was expecting *some* action, lots of interrogating, lots of talking, etc, but when he started to beat the shit out of these guys in groups, I knew it was going to be good.

Definitely one of the best movies I've seen in a while.

Lol, this was an entertaining film.
I didn't care too much for Liam's more 1 dimension acting, but thats my only complaint.
Well, maybe some more gore would have been more to my liking, but I doubt that's what the film-makers wanted.
Some of the action scenes, particularly the executions were pretty damn satisfying.
I love how Liam shot the french dude's wife out of the blue at dinner.

Interestingly Luc Besson (director of Leon/The Proffesional in the 90's) was producing or writing, so I bet some of his influence that rubbed off.
