Hey everyone need some help, some suggestions. I just got done putting my motor back in after installing new T28, fuel injectors, nismo motor mounts, z32 MAF, Greddy oil pan intake and oil cooler, and greddy blue pulleys. everything went smooth and i started the motor up to check for leaks, see how its running and to my surprise, the belt from alternator to water pump started to squeal and I noticed the water pump wasn't turning. It of course was working fine before, and I can't imagine it would just cease. The only change was the pulley.

Should it easily rotate by hand?
If it is hard to turn does that mean the bearing is bad?

I haven't tried putting the old pulley back on yet, which I was considering, but could just the pulley cause it?

Thanks for the help.

Maybe you got the wrong pulleys and theyre out of alignment.

The water pump free spins easily so take the belt back off and check that. If it doesn't spin, check for pulley intrusion, sounds like you did something wrong. If it looks fine, take the pulley off and spin it, if it's still a problem the pump is seized. Replace it.

thanks for the help, it was actually the alternator not turning. the spacer that came with the alternator pulley didnt fit so i used without it, but it wouldn't allow the alternator to spin. I dremeled a little out of the spacer, now it fits and the alternator spins freely. All is fixed.

You nearly died.

Rule of thumb, if a kit comes with a part, it's for a reason. Sucks it needed to be modified but it would have sucked worse without it.
