that is a great name... but im referring to snowboards.

I know its pretty much the end of the season but does anyone ride gnu's or libtech's banana technology boards? if its really worth it ill pick one up and put my rome agent to rest. but im waiting for the end of season sales to begin to catch a deal. i tried looking up reviews but i sometimes think online stores make those up. im not part of any snowboard forums so i figured id start here. any knowledgeable input would be great.

THANKS

I don't have a libtech or gnu board but I do have the hero board from burton, which is a v-rocker board that has reverse camber, aka banana tech. Unfortunately, I did not have the board when I went out to Park City but from what little I've rode it it is a really nice board. The v-rocker, in my boards case, makes it really easy to press and maneuver around. I just wish I would have had it in park city to hit all that pow!

Be careful on the Banana. The nose will chatter a lot at speed (depending on the deck) because the beefy construction is not tip to tail. Therefore, if you bash something with your nose/tail your board may split.

I'm currently riding the new Never Summer EVO 158. It's built like a brick shithouse. I can mob as fast as I can (50-60 mph?) and it's super solid. It's rockered, so riding flat pow is as easy as can be. It's buttery-ass smooth while retaining excellent shred capabilities.

Everyone is throwing a rocker into their boards now. Weigh your options and go with your first intuition.

Banana are fun. I rode one when it first came out. Made me want to get one, but this year I ended up with a Never Summer SL-r with burton co2 binding, tons of fun.

If you want to get a deal, sierrasnowboard.com is have like 40-50% off this season board/gear. Burton Hero is a late 09 entry and it is on sale too. I was really tempted to get it too, but you have to get the new est bindings. There a bunch of Libtech board on there too. The season is not over yet. Snowing in tahoe today through monday with freezing temps. on Monday (forecasted). But next year, I think there will be a bunch of new boards with the reverse camber/rocker technology.

Man I remember last season, this dude straight out of the 70's was RAVING about banana tech boards.

"They're the shit maaaaaan."

He said they feel more like a skateboard in the air and stuff idk.
