View Full Version : Noob question re: coilover adjustment

My car came equipped with a set of JIC coilovers (unknown model, they're a few years old at least) and I would like to fiddle with the dampening to see how the car responds differently. I was under the impression that the damper knob is on the top of the strut body like in these:

However.. the top of mine don't look like that and look like these:

I was fiddling around with my socket on the black piece in the center and tightening/loosening it but didn't really seem to notice any change in my suspension feel, not to mention that it didn't "click" at all..

Where might be the damper knob be on my coilovers if they're not on the top?

dont tighten/loosen that nut....unless u want it to come apart....

yea depends on what model. the second pic still doesnt work. but JICs:::turn counter clockwise for stiffening, cw for softening iirc

the FLTA2 are monotube so the dampening for the fronts are on the bottom and the rears are on the top
