In the process of switching out a new flawless dash in my 240 and fixing my HUD
So i drove to work today with no dash and my cluster was ghetto rigged, come to find out my blinkers dont work.

I checked the fuse, its fine.
any ideas? I dont really understand the relays under the hood of the car, heard they never go bad tho.

Plug in the hazard switch.

thanks resolved it was the hazard switch,
AND i did search, so stop bitching about searching you wouldn't have nearly 2 thousand posts if people didn't ask....

fortunately no one suggested blinker fluid, posted a pic of a spoon, or told you to figure it out on your own....

:wan:

I don't get it lately...the hazard switch is a VERY common mishap for those the pull their dashes a lot...like you, once you know you'll never do that again...but for someone that doesn't they may swear they plugged everything in and not realize those two fuckers fell behind the dash so they missed them.

I can see saying "SEARCH" to something multi-faceted like "what's the best swap?"...but when they do it for something that has one and usually only one solution; that's just being :mephfawk:

Still though, common sense would tell anyone with a brain that if the hazard switch is unplugged, the turn signals won't work. Just like if the radio is unplugged, the speakers won't play sound. It's not rocket science, was a thread really even necessary?

I'm sorry I have to side with the OP. Not all 240 owners are EEs or can even use crimp terminals correctly(by not using them). So this to me is a semi-valid question.

When I had that switch unplugged I would have figured the output from that switch would be Y'd into the wiring coming from the turn signal stick to the signals. Not that the current flowed through the hazard switch and to the turn signals.

However simple troubleshooting proved otherwise.

I guess we should just get rid of mechanics too and simply have a tool loan program.

Could help the economy maybe?
