I am going to get a RB25 gearbox for my swap, however it is used and the previous owner probably beat the shit out of it. It shifts fine and w/e but I would like to rebuild it so it is all fresh when I put it in my car. So my question is, what doest rebuild gearbox include during the rebuild??
Beside the synchro, I don't know what needs to be replace if the gears are not chipped. And how many hour it usually take?? I am not doing this myself obviously but I would like to know more so I don't get screw over by shops. Thanks.

$450-900 for a complete rebuild. All depends on what they replace. No way to know until they get into it.

So if the tranny shifts fine, what would be the mostly likely components that get replace?????

Just wear items. Most likely syncros and bearings/shims. Transmissions are a skill I never acquired.

^ I just want a fresh reliable tranny that will last me for awhile because I will beat the shit out of my car.

the rb25 tranny is already pretty strong. i havent seen anybody that need to rebuild theirs due to abuse or too much power. ive only seen people rebuilding them because they came damaged. but if you really want to rebuild it, it has the same internals as a z32 tranny, the case is just different.
