Save up for cams first, then get the gears!

No, you don't need to have new cams first. Cam gears will increase performance. But if your going to spend the money on cam gears, save up a little longer and get new cams. You'll have greater gains from this.

Do they even make aftermarket cam gears for the KA? They're also internal so they'd be harder to adjust anyway, right?

If they were made, I'm sure JWT would have them. I've never heard of a set made for the KA.

what other mods have u done??? cams & cam gears are great but not the best place to start. cam gears can b installed and set to "zero" which is exactly like factory and the only way to truly adjust them to produce power is with a dyno. otherwise ur just shootin in the dark!
intake, headers & exhaust...???
JWT cam gears are $140 for the DOHC. Adjustability is not for the faint of heart. You basically must pull the gears inorder to change the setting.
It's primary use is for dialing in cams for turbocharge application usage.
As for dialing it in on a dyno, lets just say to change the cam gear settings, it's about an hour worth of wrenching.
