I have the VIS s15 carbon fiber hood.

My body shop is painting the whole car, we are concerned about the hood. With the glossy finish, is it OK to paint?

Is any special pre-treatment or paint required?

How long has your been painted, does it still look good?

thanks!

Who is "we"?

If the shop is concerned, take your hood to a different shop. The surface needs to be prepped just like any other surface.

QFT...when you are taking a car in to a shop it's usually due to wanting to rely on their expertise and with bodywork it's a real art.

That said they should know wtf to do if you want it painted or natural. Over time I haven't seen may unfinished CF hoods not look like shit after a year or so unless they are garage queens. Personally I'd paint them.
