so i just got my z32 calipers powdercoated and was wondering what people did to get the powdercoat off the "Nissan" lettering so it stands out. i was thinking tape off around the lettering then sand it with a block sander?? any help is appreciated

Exactly. Then clearcoat it afterward.

true dat!
Used that trick on my valve cover works like a charm but be ready to scrub the hell out of those letters.

or get a paint pen and just 'color' in the letters, works fine keeps the smooth powdercoated finish, easy and cheap, no sanding, no taping, no BS. if you run off the letter a bit like a 1st grader use a cotton swab and alcohol to clean it off. Clear it and done.

Dremel With the Wire brush wheel
Thats what i did when i got a little bit of over spray on mine
but it might kinda melt/smear with a thick powder coat
worth a shot

i just got a quality black paint pen from michaels or any art supply store. it was easy as shit. yes high temp clear, but the paint pen doesnt matter. I even filled in shit on my valve cover, and on my radiator, so far 1 year later no adverse affects, no peeling, no chipping, no discoloration.
