Hello, I just got my sr(S14) running and now comes the hassle of smogging it...yes, yes, yes, i know i can pay someone off, and i know its ILLEGAL, but i just want some info that i know most of us would really apprieate. Ok, Im pretty sure the car will pass the sniffer, i found out the sr is really not too bad in that sense (anyone actually had experience with it going though a sniffer????), but what ALL does the visual inspection entail??? Any help would be great???

Is it just me or do you guys here on zilvia talk more **** than you guys actually know!!!! I was under the impression that this was a forum not a contest of who is the most immature!!! I knew about smoging the sr before the clips were really even being imported here...look, ive search this forum and i found some good info about smogging the sr, although the only real aspect that was never discussed was the visual inpsection and what it consisted of. So, i started a new post...so to all you guys who wanna get all butthurt thats fine, it only further develops you ingnorance...to the rest of the 240 community, I post here because unlike all those trendy imports (hondas) us 240 fans are intelligent well respecting people

visual inspection consists of the smog tech looking at your gas cap to make and testing it to make sure it holds pressure. The under the hood part consists of looking for your egr and making sure its there looking for your aiv and making sure its there. Also technically making sure you have a stock intake or carb exempt one and same goes for exhaust . Most of the time they will not bother getting on the ground to see if your cat is there.
FWIW. you can run the the Japanese egr on your SR you could make a phony aiv and if you run a cat it will pass. I have a smog guy here in LA that pretty much says if he sees that stuff under the hood and you pass tailpipe your good to go .
