what up with drifters in japan converting 180s and skylines into truck/cars ... is it to lose weight .... i dled two videos one of a skyline and one of a sil-eighty .... they should call them el skylines or el 80s ... i tried to get the pic to work but i could capture a frame from the video .... ill try again tom .... but now its time for sleep

They do it for the WTF factor. I don't think there's necessarily any performance benefit from it.

Kinda groovy to me.

its for both the WTF factor and to drift better. But those guys are so good at drifting they can do it in pretty much anything.

baah... i wanna buy another S14 and turn it into a truck/ parts hauler now :p too bad i'd need serious bracing to actually get it to safely haul a trailer... damn unibodies.

I wouldn't say it's pointless. It may not give performance or the ability to haul a trailer, but they're still pretty sweet and that's the whole intent.

She's in a chinese pop group called Twins. Pretty hot stuff. Here's pictures of them:

I find the conversions quite original.... I can't say I'd do that to my car, but I think I like it! :)

Damm straight
If i had the talent, time and (most importantly) money I think I would do it. Very original;)

Maybe they do these conversions because they don't get gaz-guzzling american pickups... ;)

Anyways, it's still much better than a huge bodykit with neon accents. ;)

That's what I like about Zilvia... not a lot of people can stand those spaceship-like bodykits!

i like to call em Sil-Caminos (all the ones i've ever seen had d-style s13 fronts on them)

i think it does serve a purpose, because
1. it reduces a ton of weight and
2. it makes it very easy for them to do some crazy rollcage and suspension work that would be difficult or impossible otherwise

well yeah of course....

I like the 180sx one, it is pretty cool, and it would be nice to able to have a car that could haul parts or engines or extra wheels, and if you drive a 240 you wouldn't have to change the way you drive like you have to do with real pickup trucks.

hey am I the only one to notice that the 180 truck is smoking its front tires off the fenders where it rubs during suspension compression during drifting? that can't be good....
