I have a 91 240sx se and I want to get a new exhaust. At first I wanted to get the A'pexi N1 or N1 Dual, but then I read that those are better for turbo cars. I don't have a turbo now, but I do plan on swapping my KA towards the SR in a year or two. I would like to get your opinions on what exhaust is best for me.
Thanks

N1
it is very affordable $400
and when u get the SR u can still sell it for like $200-300 and ppl will still buy cuz the pipes wont rust

Why would I need to sell the N1 after I get the SR?

N1 comes in both NA and turbo
since u have plans for turbo 1 or 2 yrs from now then i would get the NA cuz the plans are unsure......

Get the Apexi GT Spec if you are planning on upgrading to a turbo engine. Contrary to what you might think, the GT Spec is not that loud on a NA engine. The silencer works really well too. Can't go wrong with full stainless steel either.

The Apexi GT Spec is too expensive.
Drifterx-> What do you mean it comes in both NA and turbo? I have only seen on N1 model.
Oh and does the N1 come with a silencer?

the N1 has an optional silencer and some places gives it for free......
there is 2 different piping size, 1 for N/A and 1 for turbo

Oh how do I know if the piping is for NA or for Turbo? And do you know any places that include the silencer for free?

I've got a GReddy SP Catback and I like it. N1s are awesome too.

The N1 is supposed to come in n/a (~2.5") and turbo (3") sizes, but the n/a size seems a little hard to find (or maybe I just didn't look hard enough :-p). If you're almost certain you're going to turbo, get the turbo (3") N1. It's not so big that you loose alot of low end on a n/a car, but it's big enough to handle a turbo when you get it. While your car is n/a, it will help out the KA's severely lacking top end as well.

so do u all have the turbo versions of the n1? cuz it doesn't seem like u'd lose A LOT of low end at 2.5" piping. n speedy, i believe the silencers r like $50-70? it's not a real big piece so it's easy for u to put on urself in a matter of minutes. if u bought the exhaust w/ the silencer(s), then i'm sure the price would still be about the same, if not more.

Dont use the silencer, it sounds like your car is farting. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

I want the GReddy DD 3" cat back. But because is uses 3" piping, It isn't recommended for NA models. But It is the nicest little set up I have seen.
I'm not a huge fan of exhausts that an elephant could have it's way with.

If you want a good look sound and power on an S13 I personally think the Apex-i N1 Dual or the Greddy SP are the way to go, the reason I actually prefer the N1 Dual over the regular N1 is that you see a very minor decrease in low end torque on an NA car but a substantial gain in upper end power, not to mention that I can ship an N1 Dual for $35 and it costs me over $100 to stip an N1 single... haha... when you think about it and add in the shipping it's worth getting the dual over the single.
