View Full Version : S14 Zenki bumper shave?
Hi all.
Im planning on shaving the front two turn signals off my Zenki bumper and filling them in .
Now what would I use to do this? I know not a whole lot bonds to polyurethane so will I have to cut two polyurethane peices and melt them to the bumper?
Has anyone done this before? I would love to see some pictures I have just had a had time finding them . I think this would look pretty good with either a JDM kouki rear with valences or just the zenki valences , JDM Zenki/ Navan sides and my front .

hmmmm...intersesting....what will you use for signals then???
I plan on wiring the corner lights (I'm probably going to spray the corner lights amber). I'll also have my side markers to blink too . My corner lights never light up and I use my actual lights as DRL in Canada .

find a scrap bumper and cut the pieces needed.. make sure areas are clean... with grease and wax remover..sand areas with 80 grit..
and buy some of this shit.. seems to work pretty well
Evercoat (http://evercoat.com/productCategory.aspx?cat=6)
i've seen it go for pretty cheap on ebay... i think it retails at body shop supply places for some $$ though..
check out this video... http://www.evercoat.com/maxim/videos/maxim_bumpertab_video.wmv
Perfect
Now I wonder if I can use those repair pads as filler instead of hacking another bumper ( they are hard to come by out here) that way If I screw up one I still have another one to use .

I did this to my bumper back when my car was a zenki (1 year ago). Heres a picture of what it looked like.

I cut the brackets that hold the lights out so the back side was flat, then I cut a piece of plastic and molded it together with a product that had short pieces of fiberglass in it, I forget the name. I have more pictures if you want to see them just PM me.

any shitty bumper in the junk yard would work.. just got to find one that is sorta like the shape you need.. those backing things from evercoat are kinda over priced.. when i fill in holes I just use a clean piece of bumper fragment
any passenger car should work.. try like a ford or a chevy Malibu bumper.

I say just take off the bumper and get some fiber glass to put on the inside of the hole that u want filled. Then when that dries get some glazing putty that bonds to plastic well and fill i the rest until desired level. then just sand down as needed with 180, 220,and finally 400 arounf the area being filled. Then paint with base and clear Done.
