Well it's been going on for about 2 months now, but right around 3k rpm i hear this amazingly loud rattle coming from the turbo/exhaust side of the motor(at least that's what it seems like). Anyways I'm just wondering if there's anyone around the 626 area that could help me diagnose the problem. Power wise it feels fine and it also does it in neutral when revving at 3k or in 1st and 2nd gear more noticeably. If anyone has any input, the only thing i have searched and dug up so far is VTC rattle or something of that sort.
Already checked the turbo there's minimal if any shaft play, but who knows.
Appreciate all the help in advance let me know what you guys think?!
Thanks
Mike

i had this problem my downpipe was missing 3 out of the 4 bolts connecting it which caused alot off vibration and clankin in that area, idk if this is the same but it's in the same area :)

well checked the downpipe and all the bolts there are tight. Made sure downpipe to cat-delete was tite and so on and so fourth. No loose bolts, took off all the heat shields and the noise is still there. Used one of those car stethascopes to pinpoint any noise coming from the cam gears underneath the valve cover and nothing, so i went over to the part where the turbo outlet is where it runs into the hotpipe and there is a lot of noise/vibration in that area, as well as a lot of vibration/ noise where the exhaust manifold is.
anymore help?
thanks
Mike

maybe some of the bolts holding on your elbow and manifold is loose?

or something is hitting against one another.
