View Full Version : ISIS Straight Dual Tip Exhaust - What do you guys think?
Enjuku Racing

Guys,
We had ISIS build a proto-type Exhaust. It is pretty much straight pipes.
Here are some pics
http://enjukuracing.com/images/ISIS/isepexhaust1.jpg
http://enjukuracing.com/images/ISIS/isepexhaust.jpg
http://enjukuracing.com/images/ISIS/isepexhaust2.jpg
Here is a video of it on my stock KA S13.
YouTube - ISIS Dual EP Exhaust (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JsT9cuGe6uE)
It is awesomly LOUD !!!! Sounds amazing in person..... The one we got does not have any resonator on it, but we can have them put it on if people have any interest.
I am trying to get suggestions and if people have any interest in a track only exhaust or (i really want to piss of the neighbors) type of exhaust
Let me know your thoughts.
thanks
ken

Jeeez, burn the tips a bit and slash cut them as well, and you have my exhaust (thanks Aspec Logan : Blastpipes), haha. Does sound a bit on the raspy side, but that's one more reason slap a turbo on :).

NO leave it a straight pipe fuck resonators! if you want straight pipes your not looking for "low" sounding... I WANT... is this going to be 3 inch? cause it should, most people who want this are turbo or need big exhaust...
you could just sell the muffler "blastpipe" style

the only problem I personaly found with blaspipes is that no matter how angle you put it it looks straight like some 3Aracing muffler... cause the Y was really short and you couldn't angle it enought withought it looking funny, some cars looked nice with them... but i would never run it cause it wouldn't be the look i liked... kinda like dart izumi is what im going for...

Actually, if it's "original" and it sucks in comparison with its competition on the market, nobody's gonna buy it, so then why would they make it if it's not going to sell?
I mean, damn, I can take a shit, wipe it on some pipes and make it stank, then target those crazy Japanese businessmen that have fucked up fetishes, and it would be original, but they wouldn't buy it cause I'm not a 10yr old girl doing the same exact shit.

but if they make it like people want which is just like every other company they are just gonna say KNOCK OFF and i think isis wants also to bring new things to our scene instead of the same shit we see everyday on every S chassis... and just because a few people on zilvia say they want stagger, bigger pipes and whatnot, it doesn't mean other people out of the zilvia scene want it, and we know for a business to be succesful you can't just go with what ONE group wants, you have to try and make every group happy...
i know what you're trying to say but still just because WE want something doesn't mean they should make it like that cause they are other markets out of zilvia, and second i am one that want to see something change in the S chassis scene all our cars look the same right now... some evolution or something unique would inspire other companies to make new things and so move the aftermarket again to actually make new things instead of the same shit we have been seeing since 2005... or something like that

Except put a billion resonators on it. I don't want my car to make any sound at all, besides from the speakers. I want to understeer through backyards and quietly assassinate garden gnomes at night.
Please make a 3" exhaust that sticks out past aero, and is quieter than stock, haha. Can my car be the test mule? :)

hahaha the problem is on a stock body it would look really weird!
couldn't isis just make the "muffler" part so people can decide how many resonators and stuff to put on? that would be better i guess... those who want to be loud make a pipe straight to the header/turbo, those who wanna be quiet stick a bunch of cat/resonators in between that and the engine...
and cops would be on our ass saying that the tips are dangerous or pedestrians or something! a cop was trying to give me a ticket for my FALKEN visor... like i need that tiny space on top so i can see 2 o 3 inches to the sky and not hit superman or flying carpets going low...

However, almost all exhausts are made for stock body cars, people with aero always have to go the custom route, or have their exhaust extended. It would actually be cool if there was a better selection of exhausts that people with aero could just bolt on and it would be perfect. Especially since this is supposed to be a "track-only" exhaust, and most track/drift 240's have aero anyway.
I don't weld, and I don't like taking my car to shops. :(

as far as shape/length/etc, I love it and will get one exactly like that if you make it (and dont charge an arm and leg).
My ONLY suggestion for it is I think if you could do silencers for it too, that would be great.
Essentially it seems to be a Dart Izumi styled exhaust. Very basic.
I think a $300 range is perfect.
Like I said, I will take one exactly like that (no resonator) and silencers if you make them.

Make one with a muffler and a resonator for people who like their exhaust to sound good, not fucking terrible (ie raspy and annoying).
Do 3" single pipe into a muffler with two 2.5 inch pipes coming out of it ending with 2 slant tipped, slightly curved upward 3.5 inch pipes:
http://img259.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/users/6/6/1/3/suzuparts-img600x450-1232854573hzfayv40735.jpg
That or at least do 3" to two 3.5" outlets curved slightly upward (w and w/o muffler)....
http://www.works9.com/image/komaku/komaku02_1.jpg
Having a larger tip on the end will make the exhaust sound better. I <3 my Trust DD.

I think its ok as is... People tend to forget about performance and weight..
If you made extended tips/blast pipes/boso influence, you would only get like 5 or so people buying it. .*not really, but compared to how many people like that style is a small handful*.
Reminds me of the more subtle oldschool style exhausts that werent too crazy, but where more or less sport upgrades.

Thank you all VERY much for the suggestions and ideas. I think due to the response here and on other forums we will have them product this unit or one very similar and will try to have a few options. The price will be very resonable.
I will let everyone know the final design soon! These will take a little over a month to produce and get here. So those that like this type of style.. save your money!
Feel free to keep the ideas coming. If you have a different idea about any other products feel free to shoot me an email.

pretty much my dream exhaust right there... so if isis makes something close to that, would be awesome... the silencers should be made optional, they would bump the price up and most people who want this really don't care about silencers... i had mine on my exhaust and just removed it...
PS. those who want it to sound "low" is just a dumb idea and would bump up the price... if u want low sounding go with real muffler and stuff not some straight pipes... at least i get the resonator for people with KA and the silencers cause i sometimes put on my silencer to lower the sound a bit :p

another idea.
There are those J ones that have the slip on tips you can buy with variable lengths.
Let's say you have silencers right? They will have the hole in there that you bolt the silencer too. Cool.
I think you could also sell extender tips that work in the same way. You could bolt them right in to that same hole that would be used for the silencers.
You could offer regular tips or burnt tips.

Resinator like that. I don't get why the fuck everyone has to have extremely loud exhaust. A good resonator will make it sound great.
My DD's were far from quiet but still sounded nice when turboed.
No gay kinks pointing the tips up.
No gay super long pipes protruding a billion miles from the back of the car.
Bigger pipes.
The pipe sizes you currently have are better suited for an 86.
S chassis need bigger.
Glad to see you guys making an effort to produce a nice exhaust.

Exhaust Zar posted is a banged up Greddy DD , which is now out of production. They were one of my favorite exhausts for our cars. The other one is the Buddy Club Spec II(way to loud for street use without a silencer) but ya dual is the bomb put a muffler in the middle with resonators on the ends . A throaty exhaust sounds nice, a loud exhaust gets annoying.
P.S. both exhausts I mentioned are excellent in the ground clearance department and I would tend to agree with others. I want excellent ground clearance because exhaust systems usually seem to be the main offenders in this department.

IMO, Enjuku should pretty much just copy the Greddy dd. It isn't available anymore whereas anyone on zilvia can go buy some blast pipes and get them welded up if they want that staggered angled tip thing. Closest thing to the DD is the Buddy Club Spec II, but that is a single pipe and it is way too loud.

Its a pipe with hangers...... you cant really change up the design of a cat back exhaust seeing that it can only be hung one way.
The Tip design and resonators is the only difference you have a choice between two pipes or one pipe or a long tip or a short tip. Its kinda hard not to make the same exhaust as another one.
The hangers are placed in the same location because that where the stock hangers are. Who cares about hanger location they need to be in the same spot so you can hang it!

It isnt some mysterious thing - who cares where its made - you're going to smash it up anyways and its an exhaust pipe - its not a camshaft or a intake manifold. Theres very little that goes into it - it just has to fit...
I think it was made perfectly clear in another thread that ISIS was knockoff stuff with their freddy intake manifold and oil cooler(although its better quality that the stuff u generally get dirt cheap off ebay). The exhaust looks good and isnt noticeably knocking off some other companies equipment (like the intake mani).

Well, everything isn't so black and white out here.
Laguna Seca has noise regulations amongst other tracks.
A race track up here was closed down pretty much because of the noise associated with racing and drifting.
Sure hell could be raised against people who move next to a race track.
But chances are the people against the track will win.
So instead of complaining and crying what I believe is fair about how loud a car should be, I rather follow rules so I can continue to have a somewhat local place to be able to go to.
Brian

As well as how I know people who have been black flagged also because of noise.

They're selling what they're selling, regardless of what you say about knockoffs.. they sell knockoffs, and people buy them. Some people have no right buying a 700$ exhaust for their car... Other people have nice cars - and the exhaust fits their car (and budget) - so they buy the baller stuff.

Much easier to cut tips and make them shorter, than make them longer.

or they could make them for stock kits and stuff like that, and like was requested before... extension pipes... kinda like the thing that hks or whatever brand had that you screw it where the silencer is suposed to go... makes it longer and adjustable for different kits... the thing im talking about has like 4 or 5 holes so you can adjust the lenght of it depending how you want it...

Alls I knows is that, Apex'i makes an extension tip for 4.5" tip exhausts. I'll be buying one soon.
Not sure who sells 3" tips for dual tips.

Sounds like it might be really stupid.

Ken, you should know by now that, most users that have contributed on this thread with the "design" of the exhaust won't actually get it, even though they're 120% interested or whatever lol
Seriously, most people on here won't be able to save enough money even in 2 months to buy this exhaust lol
So true^^
You make me feel bad for contributing now lol..
I would have mostlikely purchased this but I already ordered a Reinhard.. :(

i think 2.5 looks good. I had mine made in town and i love it. BUT it hangs to low.Trust DD is what these all look like but trust has AWESOME ground clearence because of its design. Someone should make something close to the DD exhaust i think.

They are in production now. But it will still be about 6-8 weeks for them to get to us.
We may have a few air shipped in, but the rest will come sea freight.
thanks

We had a run of just 20 of these produced. They are 3" with dual 3" tips and are about 2" longer than the proto-type version. They are built and now on the way to us. They should arrive in about 35 days. If you want to be one of the only 20 to have these feel free to email me to order it and get on the list for one.
Thanks

Also, do they come with a silencer or resonator?

No, I do not have any new pics. They will look identical to the proto-type one. It will not have any resonator or silencer. Full straight!!!! 3" tips and 2" longer.

tips need to be bigger for sure, and way longer. from that pic if you have aero the tips would dissapear. extend tips 8 inches, make them 3inches each. done ill buy it.
edit: totally got in on this way too late lol.
look good, want to see it on a car with a body kit. how much are they? im assuming wicked cheap. ill definately want one!
EDIT #2: tips are definately not long enough, just checked out the thread on SFLdrifters. add 4-6 inches and ill buy it :) maybe 2 versions? one for thoe with aero and one for those without? that wont clear aero.

I preordered one awhile ago with them stating the tips would be longer than the first attempt. I saw the review thread also but there is no way in hell it will clear my aero, so it looks like I'll be chopping up a brand new exhaust when it gets here...
