Went and took some pics of our old dragstrip here in town. Basically grew up here until the tower burned down. Now hardly anybody has any interest in starting it back up despite all the efforts we have tried.

Dunno, the pumping units there are still in use. Saw a few people working at them but they didn't bother me. It's right off the airport so I'm sure anyone would be seen fairly quickly. Plus the pictures don't do any justice showing how badly some of it is tore up. The finish line has two huge holes in it and that lifted part of cement.

In SoCal we lost a strip in PalmDale outside of LA. Not that many 1/4 mi strips around to test and tune. I go to the 1/8 mile track in Irwindale when I get a chance but, a 1/4 track is where it's at.

Abandoned places are creepy yet cool.

Look up your local urban explorer website, pretty much every city has at least one. Somehow I came across a few of the local ones a couple years ago, they post some pretty cool things. Apparently there's an abandoned water tunnel with a boat under KC.
There's also a covered up hole in a park downtown that goes to an abandoned underground subway station. What's crazy is that it still gets electricity, my friend and I went in there and turned on the lights, it still had 1920's light bulbs that worked, it felt like going back in time, total kreepz.

Here's the old pics...sorry I don't have a scanner so a picture of a picture is what you get. Yea, the guys on KCSR do ALOT of urban exploring...there's a bunch of old tunnels/missile silos/etc in the KC area. Also from what I've gathered, that tunnel is still used and has security personnel patrolling it.
