I might join the 240 crowd once I get rid of my eclipse. I just wanted to know how much can the stock 97 s14 transmission and rear end hold up to. In other word can I run a 11 sec time after I turbo turboed up a fully dressed and rebuilt motor. Also if people are sayin that the sr motor can't even take over 14 psi of boost and is only 2.0l why not just take the money and rebuild the stock 2.4L motor cause it would just beg for a turbo. A 2.4 will spool up a big turbo so much faster than a 2.0 sr engine which you will have to rebuild anyways to push out 400 plus street horses.

From everything I've heard, the stock tranny is the weakest link. There's a guy on the 240sx.org mailling list that has an S13 with a stock KA and a tremec tranny. He pushes some ungodly amount of laughing gas through it, and pulls off like 12's or something. I'll see if I can get ahold of him and have him email you or something.

Duy actually sold his car, believe it or not. A guy from rotary performance bought it. Duy got bored of it.
Regardless, 550 is a lot for stock tranny.

I don't know, I don't even wanna comment on it.
All I know is that I'm sure he re-enforced his tranny somehow.

I spoke to Duy on a regular basis when his car started running quick times and unless he was lying to me, he said it was stock! He was having problems with gears grinding however.

Well, it is an R33 tranny, it may hold up... I guess you're right.
