I am thinking of buying some cams from them. Anyone hear of them? www.gude.com
They have a bunch of other shit too.

I've never heard of them. All the more reason not to buy something like cams from them. Get something from JWT.

what kind of improvement do jwt cams do?

I've heard of them. I'm not sure how long they've been around, but it seems like I've been hearing that name for a while. However, JWT would be my choice simply b/c they specialize more in Nissan motors than general automotive.

Bullfrog Cam's are reputable. Call them and ask if they are regrinded cam's or are brand new cams. Then call JWT (do they sell 240sx cams?) and ask them what they use, i'm pretty sure they make brand new cams instead of regrinds, which is better but more expensive. But to answer your question, bullfrog seems to have a good rep, just never heard of any one a 240SX.

JWT cams (or cams in gerneral) are used both to increase power and to adjust the power band. For instance, I believe the JWT cams give an increase of like 13hp and move the power band up to give the KA alot more top end.

Gude is popular in honda/acura scene, ive heard good, but lots of bad. like the others say...lean towards products developed by Nissan specialists like JWT even if little more $$.

sorry, i'm an idiot, but w/ the new cams n the higher power band at the top end, does it just kind of move the low-end power to the high-end, or just merely keep the bottom end the same while putting more to the top?

As long as you stick with fairly mild cams, low end wouldn't suffer noticeably. Wild cams will kill low end, but give amazing high end...these are only good for race applications. Wild cams will also give you a really rough idle, as well.

I would steer clear of them, my friend had a few shady dealings with them for his CRX. Get the JWT ones or the ones from www.nismoparts.com

Ditto on stories - I tried to get some for my SOHC Si hatch a few years back. Not a company I would EVER deal with.

Not accusing anyone, but PDM doesn't deal with CRX parts, he's a 240/subaru impreza dealer.
As for that site, it has alot of parts, but one would think they would add a few pictures to the site. I want to see what I'm buying.

do they sell the cam or the cam shaft?
konkman

I know what a cam is, but what's a cam shaft? I don't know if others have made this mistake, but I thought they were the same.
Shaft: where the cam goes???

I was gonna say the same thing, but thought I would be wrong and didn't wanna embarass myself. I really didn't know PDM ever made anything for hondas.

OK i just want to clear this up. Are the Bullfrog cam's good but Gude performance is crappy. Or are they crappy cams and a crappy perf. store?

With them being shady, would you really wanna risk finding out if they have good products or not?

ive never experienced them in a nissan..
but i can say that wild cams in a SOHC 1.6L CRX pulled soooo hard.. and it was really powerful.. only thing.. the idle was bad.. had to gas it or the car would die.. as far as hondas go GUDE is the most popular with the Single cams... but i dont know how they work in nissan motors.
