I have a s14 SR in a s14 with a slim battery.
Usually, I could crank it for a while and it would eventually start. But now, it doensn't have enough juice to keep cranking long enough to start. I have to jump start it and it helps to press the gas to get it started. it idles fine and does not overheat once it starts. it backfires as soon as I start going and ok after that initial one. why won't it start right away? just keeps cranking for a while before it starts.
