for that one you have to drill out, if you are not able to get it out without making that hole bigger then I guess you'll have a spare arp bolt lol.

How far into the head did it snap off? Get a dremel and carve a line straight through the middle of if. Use a flathead and attempt to turn it out. Make sure u carve straight down the middle, and make sure the groove is deep enough for your flathead to seat well into. After dremeling, let the stud cool off or else when u stick ur flat head in there the metal is still soft and will strip instantly.
Thats my little trick, dunno how many other ppl actually use it...

im not sure of any other way to get them out bro. this is exactly why i soak them in liquid wrench for multiple days before i actually have to do the removal

I had the same thing happen, its still there. I soaked the snapped stud for weeks in pbbaster/wax ect. All im doing now is drilling into aluminum. I seem to have a cave in my head.
I bought a new head....thats all I could do.
ARP isnt worth it, get toyota studs, forgot part## but theyre 2bucks a pop. Use copper anti seize

exact same thing happened to me
I tried to use an easy out but it snapped:rant2:
the easy out is stuck so i tried drilling but no luck
i will too end up getting another head later on
Take it to a machine shop they can take it out
I've had mine snapped for awhile.. at the corner too fairly sure it's leaking :(
mine snapped inside by a few threads
I've had bad experiences with bolt extractors, if you snap the bolt extractor in the stud.. it's gonna make it that much harder to remove.

You can get a bolt/stud extractor that is pretty tough to snap, the only issue is the extractor wouldnt grab for shit, plus the center punch wasnt centered, thus I started drilling into the surrounding aluminum.
Pretty depressed.

I've had my #3 piston top stud snapped for almost 2 years. on a crappy $10 felpro gasket, i still have yet to detect a significant leak. The gasket shows no residue on it whenever i pull the mani off. I say just use the other 7 and see if it leaks.

keep this on the DL but another way to do it is to weld some weld onto the broken bolt and fill in the whole, then just weld a nut on the weld filling and voila. the heat of the welding will loosen up the stud and the weld wont stick to the aluminum head just the broken stud.

I used a bolt extractor on a an air relief plug.. and it snapped
drilled a whole right through the center, perfectly.. all the way through
take the bolt extractor put it in by hand using a vice grip.. barely get a few threads feel some resistants keep going.. shit snaps
buddy brings his MIG over welds a not on the top takes tops 10min.. comes right out
moral of story: fuck bolt extractors

exactly.. just do it this way

another thing is get a small rod with a tip that comes to a point and hammer it at one corner and keep tapping it counter clockwise until it comes out. you might have to drill a small hole for the point of the rod to stay in and soak in some wd40 as well before you attempt this. i got mine out in 5 mins like this, just take your time and you will get it out.

It probably is leaking at highloads, where you cant detect it.
Most of my exhaust leaks show little signs of residue, since at higherloads, and different angles of engine movements it exposes the leak.

Yes this has been known for years, however not everybody has access to a welder. But that is the ONLY real way to do it.
I already went to far, I wonder if I even have any threads left.

I will get a picture up asap... its sheared off flush with the head :( witch is better then being farther in the head i guess, im gonna try the skrewdriver idea with a dremel tool, if that doesnt work i guess its off to the machine shop :(
