re: 1992 240sx(I'm not replacing timing chain)

1. I'm resealing the front timing cover. I will replace the crankshaft external oil seal. Are there any other seals I should replace? The fsm mentioned an o ring for where the oil comes or leaves the cover.

2. Is there a reason to replace lower chain guides? how would they fail?
3. should you move the power steering pump away from front cover to make room?
4. Someone mention a hat seal? Anyone know what that is?
thanks in advance:)

when they called it a hat seal, they might be talking to about the o ring. it looks somewhat like a top hat. perhaps....ive never heard anyone talk of that "hat seal"
the guide should be ok as long as u dont have worn out tensioner. looks like youve got a new one.replace the o ring and the crank seal and your good to go .
