Background: I will be leaving for the Military on August 5th. Before I leave I will be purchasing my MCS14. I had planned to sell the FB for a little extra on the down payment, but to hell with that.

My laid out plan kids....heres how the **** falls.

Buy the MCS14. Got that? Ok heres the twist, KEEP THE FB!!

Ok, let me elaborate. The MCS14 will be my DD, but will also be a quarter mile biatch, mild auto-x and show boat. This will not be my all out performance oriented car. Of course, I plan to build on her as much as possible with the KA24DE-T, upgraded suspension, brakes. But she will also rock the INGs ground effects. Electron Blue Pearl with black spoked crome lip rims etc. etc.

The FB will be my all out auto-x ass raping utensil. Street legality is the farthest thing from my mind. Will host the SR20DET with upgrades flying out my ass. Suspension will be a very closely monitored and tuned animal, with brakes to bring this monster to a halt in less yards then ever (EVER) imagined. Body will be molded close, doors/handles are gone. Aerodynamic upgrades. You know the whole deal, who am I telling?!?! But this is going to be my real deal project car.

I know you dont care, im sorry. I am just freaking exhilirated over this....

note: Girlfriend recently expressed the wishes to learn and fix cars, as well help with the FB's tuning. Also, which almost made me cry, told me she wants to learn to race and wants to go to the track together.... maybe I can get the RaveFource turbo kit I saw for her Rav 4?!?! COOL! But she wants to race the FB with me while she learns.... ima cry guys... im the happiest man in the world... ima blubber like a little baby over here....

Congrats on the awesome girl!! :D She will love it even more than she can imagine. Just don't let her get discouraged--I was hell-bent on doing awesome, and I totally sucked my first season (granted, I only raced my car 3 times, and haven't in almost a year now), but I got frustrated, but now I know that it takes a while to be a good auto-x'er. It takes patience--you know all this. I'm so glad there's going to be another girl-racer!! :D

After taking the wife to the track (VIR) once I got her hooked. She now is into tuning and loves the way my FB rolls w/ the SR. Good luck to you w/ the plans just make sure you don't cut corners on the mods. You'll be sorry if you do! That's my only advice;)

I would, NEVER, cut corners. I am actually cut here. I think it might end up being a KA-T track bitch, reason being, I can get the KA right after I get the MDS14 for relativly cheap (hook-up) and start building her from the get go. This is not my cut corner car, this is not my one year plan. This is my 3-5 year plan. For the next six years, I live for free with a higher paying job so Im straight. I would really love to see this all coming together. Never cut corners, do it right the first time; ALWAYS.

Is this SCCA autox/solo2 you will be using it for? Is the sr20 legal considering it is a swap?

It'd be an E/Mod car I think. I forget how the Modified classes go, but they're basically "anything goes" broken down by weight/engine size.

Fierce competition in those classes. I fear the 240SX might be too heavy to compete worth beans... consider that you'll likely be competing with cars that weigh as little as 1500lb. All that power isn't going to get you far, either.

Personally it seems like a waste to put that much effort into a car, then go dodge cones in a parking lot ;)
